How to get there
Rome is located in the center of Italy, so whilst you can always get the train to Roma Termini, it is very cheap and easy to fly into Rome from any other European hub. You will land at Roma Fiumicino Airport in the cities West and then take a train straight from the airport to the city, which takes around 40 minutes.
You will arrive in Roma Termini by train then take any other connecting transport to your accommodation. Don't forget to validate your train ticket right before you get on the train. If you purchase a ticket online, you do not need to validate it.
Tip: Be careful with your belongings around the station, this is a prime place for pickpockets and scammers.
How to get around
Get yourself and eSim which connects to the network as soon as you arrive in Italy. Getting around Rome is easy, there is so much to see, apps like Citymapper will help you navigate the streets. Moovit has schedules for the public transport network (though they're not always on time). You can buy train and bus tickets with the Trenitalia App. FreeNow or Uber are going to be your best friends when you've had too much wine for lunch and just need to get home.
Tip: Make sure you have cash, and change, if you need to get a public bus you can pay on the bus but they do not give change.

The most iconic destination in the city. This incredible monument has beauty throughout the whole day, we recommend doing a self-guided audio tour in the morning. Stay around the area and stop for some pasta in a restaurant overlooking the city.
