THE DAY-BY-DAY GUIDE TO A PERFECT WEEK IN ROME 🇮🇹 I've been fortunate enough to visit Rome multiple times and even more fortunate to have been guided by true Italian friends. Here I take all that I've learned from those travels and distill it into one perfect week. This itinerary is great whether you've been to Rome before or are returning and hoping to explore some new spots. You'll visit classics like the Colosseum and the Vatican (where I still find something new to drop my jaw every time I go) as well as more underrated places that most tourists mistakenly skip in a rush to see other parts of Italy. With that in mind, you'll notice this itinerary is a full 7 days. I see this as the minimum to truly see Rome. Many people only spend 2-3 days here, and I completely understand. Europe is expensive and you want to make the most of your trip. If that's you, this itinerary can still help - just pick your favorite days. But, I think you'll find that even a full 7 days barely scratches the surface of the Eternal City, and you'll be itching to come back to see (and eat) everything Rome has to offer!

Here I take all that I've learned from those travels and distill it into one perfect 3-day introduction. This itinerary is perfect for someone visiting Rome for the first time and then continuing on to other parts of Italy for the rest of your trip. You'll visit all the truly must-see sights like the Colosseum and the Vatican, but you’ll do so at a pace that won’t make you exhausted and miserable. Generally I recommend that people spend even longer in Rome (because there’s just *so much* to see here), but I know the stats say 3 days is really typical. I completely understand. Europe is expensive and you want to make the most of your trip. But, I think you'll find that these 3 days barely scratch the surface of the Eternal City, and you'll be itching to come back to see (and eat) everything Rome has to offer!

Welcome to Rome! I know this city can be overwhelming, so I'm here to help! I've divided this guide in various sections (neighbourhood names). These are my favorite places to eat and drink in the Eternal City Please remember it is always best to make reservations while in Rome. If you show up to a restaurant and they are fully booked, they most likely send you away, there is no concept of waiting in line for the next table to free up in Rome (there are some exceptions like most pizza places) Tipping in restaurants is not expected, but it is always very much appreciated! Please remember that tips can only be left in cash so make sure to always have some smaller pieces on hand (it is also preferred when paying for small things like a coffee or water bottle in a bar)
