You only have 3-4 days and want to go somewhere off the beaten track? Here’s an idea for you. 3 cities in 3 days may seem a little hard to do but these are 3 cities where one day is more than enough to see pretty much everything. In between these cities you will take a bus, so if you don't drive or don't feel like renting a car in a new foreign country - this guide is for you. This is the itinerary I made for myself first, so I visited all the places listed here and stayed in the hotels mentioned here. I'm a budget solo traveler so the hotels will be good enough to just come after all day of walking and sleep there, but if you're like me, it shouldn't be a problem for you. So, this guide is for adventurous backpackers, who want to travel more for less money. If this is you - keep reading and I hope you'll follow my steps in Morocco.

WHERE TO STAY IN ESSAOUIRA ?

The Sahara is mystical, enchanting, and endless. And getting there is half the fun. While you might get your camel fix in the Agafay Desert near Marrakesh, the big and grand desert is a solid 10 hour drive away. And while it is easiest to get a guide to help, it is possible to do it (or at least part of it) on your own. Just make sure you bring four-wheel drive and a satellite GPS to get to your camp. Even if you don't want to go into the desert by yourself, there is a plethora to see along the way, including the High Atlas Mountains, the kasr's and movie studios around Ouarzazate, the fascinating Berber culture in the Dra’a Valley, and even some more off-the-beaten bath excursions towards Tazenakht. This guide will save you many hours of trying to puzzle together an optimal itinerary for your first trip to Morocco in 7 days. I just came back and my planning efforts worked out so well I decided to write it all up. If you want to discover Morocco by yourself without going on organized trips, my guide won't disappoint you.
