The El Badi Palace in Marrakech was built at the end of the 16th century by the Saadi sultan Ahmed al-Mansur to celebrate the victory over the Portuguese army in 1578 in the battle known as the Battle of the Three Kings. According to the chroniclers of the time, it was the wonder of the Muslim world.
