During my 7 months travelling Europe last year, I visited Split 3 times, including a one month stay volunteering at a party hostel, so you could say I'm a pretty big fan of this city! I didn't learn to speak much Croatian, but I did start to feel more like a local and know my way around the beautiful city and surroundings. This guide will detail some of my favourite things to do in this gorgeous Old Town, including places to eat, drink, party, beaches, day trips and more!

One of my favorite countries I have ever visited is Croatia! It has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. I flew into Zagreb and would only recommend spending one day in the capital. It is not that impressive of a capital city. I highly recommend flying to Dubrovnik and staying 2-3 days. Then taking a bus to Split. The scenery from the bus of the Dalmatian coast will be unforgettable!

The ultimate guide to Croatia

I fell in love with this city last year and it breaks my heart I couldn't visit again in 2023. Nevertheless, I am here to share with you my favourite things to do, eat, where to stay, etc! I was lucky enough to meet a local (sailor) so he showed me what locals ate and also took me out on a sunset cruise to the Blue Caves. If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones (GOT), then you’re in the right city! There are plenty of filming locations here that you will recognise, as well as on nearby Lokrum island. There are several different walking tours through the old town, including GOT themed ones. "How long do I need?" Answer: "4 nights at leeeeassst!"

Croatia is one of those places where the contrasting colours of it's blue waters, green flora, and terracotta roofs all meet together in a snapshot, and it's enough to make your eyes water. Vast mountain ranges form a stunning backdrop to the towns sprinkled along the Adriatic Coast. Winding roads lead inland to small mountain villages, glistening lakes and the country's capital Zagreb.

Montenegro is probably the MOST underrated European country. Located in the Balkans by the Adriatic sea, most people would choose Croatia or Greece over Montenegro. Why pick Montenegro instead? Because it's way less touristic and cheaper than its neighbors. And despite its small size, it has it all! From picturesque coastlines with centuries old towns to Alpine mountains and waterlily filled lakes, Montenegro doesn't disappoint. And because of its small size, it's possible to see its highlights in 7 days, from North to South. This guide is best suited for road trip enthusiasts and avid travelers who want to see as much as possible in a limited time and on a budget. There is little time for relaxation, expect to be exploring and driving every day (on average 3 hours per day), but it will be absolutely worth it! For convenience reasons, this itinerary starts and ends in Dubrovnik, Croatia, right at the border with Montenegro. This guide includes a detailed 7 days itinerary based on my own road trip done in 2021, with cheap accommodation recommandations, places to eat, activities, sight suggestions and even hidden gems! This is a one-day food guide through two beautiful cities in Croatia: Split and Zadar. I myself am not croatian, however I´ve visited Croatia a few times with my partner who is Croatian and it´s easy to say that the more I visit the country the more I fall in love with it.
