A Weekend in a Uruguayan coastal town Colonia del Sacramento is one of the most beautiful, historic, and pleasantly surprising cities in the region. I was surprised to find that Colonia was founded by Portuguese settlers in the late 1600's, and is considered to be the oldest city in Uruguay. I spent 40 hours in Colonia del Sacramento and want to give you the best insights for what to do in a day trip or a weekend in this Uruguayan coastal town.
