My husband and I recently went on a seven-night trip to Mexico, combining the historic San Miguel de Allende (SMDA) with the vibrant Mexico City (CDMX). CDMX was on my list for a long time and I was thrilled to finally make it there.
Our journey began in San Miguel de Allende, where we spent two nights. Then, we traveled by private car to Mexico City, where we stayed for five nights.
In this guide, I’m sharing the highlights of our trip in CDMX, offering insights and tips for those who may not travel often but are eager to explore new destinations.
I hope my experiences inspire you to consider your journey.

Ready to embark on your San Miguel de Allende adventure? This flexible itinerary is designed to put you in the driver's seat, allowing you to craft your perfect day, whether you prefer a leisurely pace or a jam-packed schedule. The choice is entirely yours!
Let our personal journey guide you in customizing your own San Miguel de Allende experience. We're avid walkers, so we explored the city on foot, clocking over 20,000 steps on some days. We only deviated from doing things independently when we took a food tour with a local guide, an exclusive experience that added a unique touch to our trip. This level of personalization ensures you're in control of your San Miguel discovery.

Walking 18,000 steps a day might sound like a lot, but it’s hardly noticeable when you're immersing in the sights and sounds of a beautiful city like Paris.
Imagine strolling past cafes, boulangeries, shops, grocery stores, children playing in parks, and people walking their dogs. You can grab a croissant and coffee, sit in the park or by the Seine River to rest for a while, and then continue your walk. That’s what this itinerary is all about—no rush, just being in Paris, walking, and exploring all the places that ordinary tourists on buses, the metro, or in Ubers won’t experience.
We're sharing our actual 6-day, 5-night thoughtfully paced Paris itinerary. I hope you find it helpful for planning your next trip!
It’s detailed and will guide you to famous sights and some off-the-beaten-track places, places to eat, and tips to make your trip to Paris unforgettable.
