Where to Stay
Centro Histórico
@ericandsarah
The most popular area of San Miguel to stay in due to its beautiful colonial streets, shops and proximity to the town square. This area is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site so it is preserved to look like it's out of storybook! Although this area is the most beautiful, it comes at a cost as accomodations are significantly more expensive.

Guadaloupe

This area is a great alternative to the centro historico because it still has very cute streets, lots of murals and is very safe. There are a lot more budget-friendly accommodation options in this area.

This Airbnb room is very simple but has everything you need for a short stay in San Miguel de Allende. The terrace is a great place to hang out, the host is so kind and it only takes about 10-15 mins to walk to El Jardin from this location.
Sites to See
The absolute best thing to do in San Miguel de Allende is to spend hours walking through the picturesque streets, admiring the architecture and artwork. You can't really go wrong with anywhere you walk in San Miguel, but here are a few must-see spots to get you started!
Jardín Allende
@ericandsarah
The central plaza of any Mexican town is usually a hub of activity but in San Miguel it is THE place to be for everything. It feels like at times the entire town is sitting in the square (especially at sunset). There's musicians and performers, street vendors, icecream, tacos and more to enjoy all in one place! It's a great place to sit and appreciate the community, or even make a few friends as everyone is super friendly.
