Thank you for your interest in my Sweet Life Italy itineraries. Here is a 4 day itinerary of Gaeta with a day trip to the Amalfi Coast. Nestled in the South West of France, the city of Bordeaux, has been named one of Europe's best destinations - and it's easy to see why! Bordeaux truly showcases the best that France has to offer: world renowned food and wine heritage, a growing art and design scene, a stunning historical centre and just a short trip to the beautiful vineyards and countryside. The city centre is registered as the largest urban UNESCO world heritage site in the world. I have been lucky enough to call Bordeaux my home - on and off - for the last 10 years. Below are 7 things I love to do in my city that will guarantee you make the most of your time here. I walk you through the areas that you won't want to miss and share my favourite spots in the wine capital of France.

Nestled in the heart of France, Lyon is known as the country's culinary capital. This city brims with life and a wealth of attractions waiting to be explored. While it ranks among France's most significant urban centers, two days are often sufficient to take in its many offerings. Lyon's unique charm stems from being traversed by two winding rivers, which bestow upon it a distinct allure. Multiple bridges gracefully connect the city's three main districts: the historic Old Town (Vieux Lyon), the peninsula known as Presqu'île, and the riverbanks on the right bank of the Rhône. For a short stay, it's advisable to choose accommodations as centrally located as possible, ensuring easy access to the city's primary points of interest. While Lyon is mostly walkable, do keep in mind that it encompasses several hilly areas, particularly the Fourvière Hill. For those less inclined to undertake the uphill journey on foot, there's a cable car service available to ascend the heights. Should you wish to extend your journey, Lyon harmoniously pairs with other destinations such as Paris, Dijon (and the Burgundy region), Geneva, and Annecy. Dive into this vibrant city where culinary expertise meets rich heritage, this city is a captivating blend of historical landmarks, vibrant neighborhoods, and a thriving cultural scene. I could never understand why people raved about Paris so much, until I went back more than once and slowly started to appreciate its beauty. Having been there in all the seasons, I can finally say: Paris mon amour. Is it messy? Yes! Is it chaotic? Yes! But it's also beautiful, charming, romantic, and there's always something going on of course. If you don't like it the first time then don't give up, give it another go.

This is the exact itinerary I put together for my wife and I during our first Eurotrip. Paris was our second stop from starting in London. Why no Louvre? You could spend an entire day there to appreciate all of the art and given our limited time I thought it best to save the Louvre for a return trip when the weather wasn't as nice.
