Day 1: Tuesday, August 1

Settling in, Grocery run and dinner

My sister and I landed in Paris on the afternoon of August first, but by the time we got the keys to our apartment in Levallois-Perret and settled in, it was closer to evening. (We found the apartment through a friend, but if you are looking for hotel recommendations see our Paris 2021 trip highlights below).  I find that overnight flights to Western Europe just aren't compatible with a good night's sleep, although kudos to the those who can catch some zzz's!  This means that landing in the afternoon or evening will hopefully allow for some "catch-up" sleep so that you can start your first day of adventures well rested.

Levallois-Perret
@elanacolton
Considered to be a suburb of Paris, LP actually is bordered by the Seine on one side and the 17th arrondissement on the other and is easily walkable to many tourist destinations. You still get the feel of Paris with a quieter, Suburban feel. There is a Jewish community here which means shuls, restaurants and kosher grocery stores, a huge perk for the religious traveler.

First order of business after settling in is a quick grocery run! Wherever you end up staying in Paris, no matter the neighborhood, make it your  business to check out the closest (Kosher or otherwise) supermarket. Check out what they have on offer that looks interesting to you, buy a few things to sample and snack on throughout your trip and (TIP: buy some breakfast foods to munch on before you head out for the day. This will save you time, money and will give you the energy you need to start the day while leaving room for lunch and dinner.

Super Cach
@elanacolton
Super Cach was our go to Kosher grocery store. Other well-known ones are HyperCacher and K-market.

After our grocery run, I was bombed and not in the mood to travel far to get dinner. Luckily, there was a pizza store, Le Cabanon Provencal right around the corner. Tiny place, but perfect for our needs. We got Quatre Saison (four seasons) Pizza and Mushroom Pasta that was super cheesy! See pics and location pin below.
