First Trip to Paris + Versailles: 5-Days (No Louvre)
Jamieson Kennedy
This is the exact itinerary I put together for my wife and I during our first Eurotrip. Paris was our second stop from starting in London. Why no Louvre? You could spend an entire day there to appreciate all of the art and given our limited time I thought it best to save the Louvre for a return trip when the weather wasn't as nice. I used my network of people who have lived in Paris and visited before to curate the ultimate first Paris trip.
Pro Tip: I loved traveling in May for our Eurotrip. The weather was perfect the entire time and the cost is significantly cheaper than traveling in the peak summer season.

Day 1
We arrived via train from London, but if you are flying in to Paris you can still make this Day 1 work for you. We arrived around 5pm local time so this first day is about getting settled, enjoying dinner and wine, and taking in the magnificent Eiffel Tower in person for the first time.
Where to Stay?
We stayed in the Montmartre neighborhood as recommended by someone who lived in Paris. I have included two other recommendations in case you want to be more centrally located in the city.
Elysées Opéra Hôtel

This is exactly where we stayed on our trip. Each morning we enjoyed a Pain au Chocolat and Espresso at the cafe on the corner and then hopped on the subway station to begin our day. There are a number of stops close by to get you wherever you need to go.

If you are staying in Montmartre like us, you can take the subway. From the Liege Stop, take 13 line (Chatillon Montrouge) 2 stops to Miromesnil. Transfer there to 9 line (Pont de Sevres) 3 stops to Alma-Marceau.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jamieson Kennedy
I am not a social media travel "influencer". I grew up deprived of traveling so my wife and I have made it a priority to make up for this through investing in experiences. I started planning together trips for us starting back in 2017 and found a passion for putting together the itineraries. I deeply enjoy learning all I can about each place we visit through research and accessing local perspectives when I can. I then thoughtfully plan our trip around the main attractions we want to see, as well as ensuring we eat well.
I joined Thatch to share these trips and tips with you so that you too can form incredible memories that last a lifetime.
