Anyone who has tried to open their laptop at a café in Madrid has experienced the same thing- a server politely walking over and asking you to put it away.
Spaniards take their coffee culture very seriously, and apart of that culture is an atmosphere of extraversion and social space. This culture can make it very hard for university students or digital nomads to find a good place to work, and luckily, many cafés have begun to change their rules.
The following is a list of cafés in the city that will allow you to work at specific tables or specific times during the work week.
Unfortunately I don't think Madrileño coffee shop owners will ever let you open your laptop on a weekend, and considering all libraries are also closed, I'd suggest doing as the Spaniards do, and taking the weekend to relax for yourself <3

Welcome to Ericeira, a wellness paradise nestled along the stunning Portuguese coastline. This guide invites you to immerse yourself into a blend of nature, surf and outdoor experiences that define the identity of this place.
With this guide to Ericeira, you'll find everything you need to make the most of your water retreat.
Recommendations ranging from cozy guesthouses nestled in the heart of the town to seaside spots with panoramic views of the ocean, co-living and hostels.
This place is turning into a digital nomad hub, which locals and pre--covid expats call "the floating island" as it feels disconnected from the rest of life happening.
I'd recommend you leave your laptop at your accommodation and soak up the atmosphere, instead of getting lost behind a screen in a coffee shop. Most places have a no lap top sign.
The recommendations I have included in this list, are all places I have stayed at or been at.
In Ericeira, wellness isn't just a concept - it's a way of life.
It requires you to actively choose limited blue light exposure.
Indulge in Nature and Connect with People.
Ditch the tech.
Welcome to a place, where every moment is an invitation to flow with life.

Buenos Aires won me over a long time ago, so much so that I’ve lived here twice already. The city’s unique charm, with its vibrant culture, stunning architecture, and energy, will quickly win you over too. You’ve probably heard about the tango and amazing food, but there’s so much more to explore. Buenos Aires is also becoming a top spot for digital nomads, offering a vibrant yet affordable city to work from.
In this guide, I’ve selected my favorite areas to stay and some tips on why I recommend them. I hope you enjoy discovering the city as much as I do!
This guide is still a work in progress, and I’ll be adding more options soon. Feel free to check out what I’ve already put together!
