Trieste, una città italiana che in sé racchiude tutto il fascino dell’architettura e dell’arte austro - ungarico. La città sorge sull’omonimo golfo, e si affaccia sul confine con la Slovenia. Rappresenta da secoli un ponte tra l'Europa centrale e quella meridionale, mescolando caratteri mediterranei, mitteleuropei e slavi. Il territorio cittadino è occupato prevalentemente da un pendio collinare che cresce di altitudine fino a diventare terreno montuoso. La città è a stretto contatto con il territorio del Carso, regione storica, un altopiano roccioso calcareo che si estende tra la provincia di Gorizia e Trieste, Slovenia e Croazia, noto storicamente per essere stato teatro di violente battaglie durante la prima guerra mondiale, tra le truppe italiane e quelle austro - ungariche. In questa guida ti consiglio i migliori luoghi da visitare, i locali dove fermarti a mangiare qualcosa di tipicamente triestino ma soprattutto le aree verdi sperdute che nascondono paesaggi spettacolari da scoprire e l’arte posta sulle facciate di edifici storici, così in bella vista da risultare quasi anonime. Non sono stati certamente trascurati né i musei da visitare assolutamente in una città ricca di cultura come Trieste né i luoghi dove alloggiare.

Some of my favorite places in the area between Florence and Siena known as Chianti. It's not just the name of the wine, but also the area which produces it. Greve is the "capital" of the area, not all the small towns and villages have town halls. Some are what's called a "borgo" a group of homes and perhaps a church. Fun to explore the small off the beaten track places as well. There are so many lovely bars and shops to have simple snacks if you don't want a large sit down meal. People watching is one of my favorite pastimes. Letting it all soak in. The 222 highway is often popular with bike riders as well and there are no bike lanes, so drive carefully, especially on the weekends. Many of the small towns have a market day once a week. Where the mall comes to you. It's always fun to visit a weekly market. More than just food! Clothing, shoes, purses, fabric, kitchen supplies and more. Often a Porchetta truck.
