This guide will take you on a journey around the famous ring road that encircles the entire country, visiting some of the finest luxury hotels & lagoons the land of fire & ice has to offer.
Iceland doesn’t do outlandish luxury, here it’s the Scandinavia way. It’s all about the experience wrapped up in a minalmist no-fuss package where quality is king.
When money is no object, Iceland offers some truly unique places to rest your head & treat yourself. There are not many places on earth where you can sleep in glass huts gazing up at the norther lights or sleep so close to an active volcano you can feel the tremors. Once in a lifetime experiences can be found in abundance on this Atlantic island nation. .

Iceland is known for its many waterfalls, in fact, there are over 10.000 on the island. Most people head for Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, this map helps you to escape the crowds and includes 10 of the lesser known but equally beautiful waterfalls Iceland has to offer.

Iceland is one of my favorite places in the world and I'm excited to share this itinerary, which covers everything you need to have the most perfect week traveling the Ring Road. Plus I've included details about an off-the-beaten-path destination located in the center of the island, which was the highlight of my trip.
I explored Iceland by van and I believe it is the absolute best way to maximize your time on the island. Van travel saves you money since your accommodations, transportation (and meals if you decide to cook in your van) are all in one!
To travel the Ring Road in just a week, you'll need to be prepared to drive a lot (a few hours each day), but you'll see a lot as well!
If you're looking to hike, experience great Icelandic restaurants, be adventurous, and see the best parts of Iceland in 7-days, then this itinerary is for you.
Destinations covered:
📍Partial Golden Circle
📍Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park
📍Skógar
📍Vík
📍Skaftafell
📍Höfn
📍Seydisfjordur
📍Lake Mývatn
📍Akureyri
📍Reykjavík
📍BONUS: Off-the-beaten-path destination (my favorite part of Iceland)
Recommendations included in the itinerary:
✔️Hikes
✔️Restaurants
✔️Two tours
✔️Van rental information
✔️Campsite information
✔️Easy van meal ideas
✔️Local tips and general Iceland information
✔️Packing list to make van life seamless
*This itinerary was created for someone looking to travel to Iceland between May-September.

Iceland really surprised me with how celiac-friendly it was! I was prepared to pack all my own food and live off granola bars...but I was met with a country that really understood celiac-safe food preparation.
This guide includes mostly Reykjavik suggestions with a few other spots scattered around the island.

Active volcanoes. Dancing northern lights. Gushing geysers. Massive glaciers. Thermal hot springs. Thundering waterfalls. Iceland is the ultimate adventure destination. How have you not been here yet? It’s finally time. Start in the northernmost capital in the world. Reykjavik is a hip, modern city. Then start exploring the wild coastline, the sheep-filled countryside, the icy interior, and the peaceful islands. There are plenty of black-sand beaches, small fishing villages, turf-roofed houses, and epic hikes along the way. Just remember to pack layers. Sometimes, the Gulf Stream provides moderate temperatures. Other times, it’ll feel like you’re in the Arctic. Also don’t forget the long, dark winters and the 24-hour daylight during the short summers. If you take advantage of Icelandair’s free stopover program—a great excuse to visit Helsinki, Copenhagen, and even Paris—you can keep returning to discover which season you like best.

SKIP the guides about the Golden Circle unless you're committed to staying in Reykjavic and only venturing out for a day. This guide has the highlights and agenda to do it all along the Southern Coast in just 3-4 days. (I recommend renting a Tesla and using the superchargers along the way to save time.)
Maximize your time by seeing all of the South Coast plus a "secret" island where they have re-homed Beluga Whales. Highly recommend going all the way to Jökulsárlón, which was THE surprising highlight of my trip.

Iceland is a beautiful place to visit year-round, with the activities changing depending on the time of year you choose to visit. The warmer months are fun to explore this country because the summer sun creates a never-ending amount of time for adventures, seeing the puffin community, and hitting all the must-sees while not worrying about snow.
This guide will give you the best places to hit in town and around the island whether you are planning for day trip excursions, road-tripping around Ring Road, or sticking to one section. This is the list of can't-miss things and places while visiting!
The list below is packed with many options on how to plan for a summer trip to Iceland. First and foremost, you will not be able to see everything on this list if you are going for a week or less, and you will have to make peace with that and get excited to come back. There is so much to do on this island, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for traveling between places and exploring. There are plenty of random pull-offs to explore that might sidetrack from the original plan. Below are tours and activity options to participate in - my suggestion would be to pick 1 or 2 that you are most interested in and make sure to book those.
I have been here several times and there is never a shortage of things to do. If you are looking for a more involved list custom to your desires for the best trip to Iceland, I also offer consultations 1-on-1 to help build the itinerary you desire.

Not everyone has 2 full weeks available to do the entire ring around Iceland, nor does everyone want to camp out in an RV every night or drive a large portion of each day, so this guide is for all you adventure seekers that still want to make Reykjavik your home for 5-7 days, as you see all Iceland has to offer (just within a few hours of the capital).
This is also a perfect guide for quicker trips, like long weekends away, bachelor/bachelorette parties, couple getaways, etc. as there are plenty of excursions, restaurants, and ideas for having a perfect time in the area.
This guide will have tons to do whether you're visiting in summer (AKA puffin/whale watching season!) or winter (beautiful Northern Lights). No matter your timing, take a look at some of the best things to do & eat in one of the most beautiful countries in the world!
