In the Philippines' Bicol Region, there is a province called Albay. It is well recognised for its natural wonders including the Mayon Volcano, which is one of the Philippines' most active volcanoes and known for its perfect conical shape. In addition, the province is also known for its hot food, which uses chili peppers in a number of its recipes. There's more to Albay, waiting to be discovered.

We visited numerous wineries in this area, stayed in a beautiful family run hotel, had incredible experiences with the local people, and overall just loved the vibe of this place! Albania is an emerging destination for travelers. While it's currently not overpopulated with tourists, I believe that in a few years, it will be on everyone's bucket lists. I spent two weeks traveling around Albania and created an itinerary of the best places. This itinerary includes Tirana, Sarandë, Berat, Shkodër, Theth, and Valbonë.

This guide is a full itinerary for a road trip from North to South in Albania. It will start with basic info you should know for traveling within Albania such as visa info, currency, safety, weather, pharmacy, etc. It will cover everything you should do and see as well as where to stay and eat in each place. It will also include alternative ideas for each place and things we didn't get to reach. This is a mid-range budget itinerary, with an average spend of €90-130 per person per day, including accommodation, transportation, food and activities. The itinerary assumes travelling by car. The final cost depends on the number of people who share the gasoline and car rental costs. There are tips throughout itinerary what is suitable for kids depending on the age. If you're someone who has never heard of the Albanian Alps, don't worry – you're not alone. I had never imagined that Albania could host such huge mountains.
