Iceland is one of those countries that you could spend weeks in, but if you're like me and you don't have unlimited PTO, you're all about maximizing your time. I spent time in Iceland over a long weekend, and definitely had the time of my life.

The warmer months are fun to explore this country because the summer sun creates a never-ending amount of time for adventures, seeing the puffin community, and hitting all the must-sees while not worrying about snow. This is the list of can't-miss things and places while visiting! The list below is packed with many options on how to plan for a summer trip to Iceland. First and foremost, you will not be able to see everything on this list if you are going for a week or less, and you will have to make peace with that and get excited to come back. There is so much to do on this island, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for traveling between places and exploring. There are plenty of random pull-offs to explore that might sidetrack from the original plan. Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic Ocean, known for its stunning and diverse natural landscapes. Here's a four day itinerary including where to stay, places to visit, where to eat, the best time to visit and more!

This guide is a detailed 10 day itinerary with an interactive map showing over 80 locations that we visited on our road trip; months of preparation and planning went into the creation of this. The travel locations include destinations around the Ring Road, locations in the Snæfellsnes peninsula/ Snæfellsjökull National Park, as well as Landmannalauger in the Icelandic highlands. It includes recommended items to pack, cost of camper van and flights, locations and the time needed to travel between each location, how long we spent at each location (when relevant), links to restaurants we visited, and campsites that we stayed at throughout the trip. I first visited Iceland 3 years ago after getting an internship out of nowhere. And since then I been coming back year after year discovering the country more and falling in love even deeper. You can either choose a budget version with camping or be more comfortable with apartments on the way. For example, if you were to travel with a friend the cheapest option would be renting 4x4 and camping with your own tents. How to explore Iceland 🇮🇸 the best in a 3-4 day exploration ! Had the opportunity to travel to Iceland during 2 different time periods (August & December). Each time was very unique with the simple fact of daylight. Here is a full list of things to do , eat & stay while in Iceland. August Visit: Average Daylight in Iceland 16 hours.
