Ajijic is a small slice of heaven along the coast of Lago Chapala, Mexico's largest fresh water lake. It is where several retirees from Europe and North America flock to, and for good reason. However, while there is a quite large retired expat community, there still remains a vibrant local culture.
In this guide, you'll get info on where to eat, and what to do both inside Ajijic and the surrounding area.

Let's not sugarcoat it - The period of planning a wedding is notorious for being a stressful time for engaged couples. There's a multitude of tasks and expectations to juggle, and it can leave you feeling more than a little overwhelmed.
But here's the deal: Your honeymoon should be a golden opportunity to unwind and ease into your freshly minted marital status - free from the demands of everyday responsibilities.
It's a chance to craft those unforgettable initial moments in this exciting new chapter of your life together. A time to finally check off those "bucket list" adventures and embark on romantic day trips. It's an opportunity to create joyous memories on exciting escapades with the one who has your heart.
AND you don't want to drop the ball on this important milestone, right? You've got a lot on your plate with all the wedding preparations. What you truly need is a seasoned pro to rescue you from the never-ending maze of vacation research and ensure you get precisely what you desire. That's where I come in to help!
First off, let me introduce myself. I'm not your average travel agent, and that's a good thing. You see, I don't do cookie-cutter vacations. I'm a problem-solving, adventure-seeking, experience-loving maverick in the world of travel. I know you want your honeymoon to be unforgettable, not just another trip.
Now, why Mexico? Mexico isn't just a country; it's a fiesta waiting to happen! From the sizzling beaches of Cancún to the vibrant streets of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico has a little something for everyone. But here's the kicker: it's the land of all-inclusive resorts, and that's a honeymooner's dream come true.
Picture this: You, your significant other, and an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. It's like having your cake and eating it, too. Gourmet dining, top-shelf drinks, and endless relaxation—all included. No need to worry about budgeting for every meal or fretting over the bar tab. It's all taken care of. [I will totally NOT judge you for having the best gourmet dinner on the beach with your loved one, then immediately jump into a bathrobe and order room service while watching your latest binge... I've actually done that several times myself and it's glorious!]
But here's where I come in. I'll handpick the perfect all-inclusive resort in Mexico that matches your vibe, whether you're into luxurious pampering, non-stop partying, or romantic seclusion. I'll ensure you get the VIP treatment you deserve because your honeymoon should be nothing less than spectacular. I'll make sure your honeymoon is as unique as your love story.
Ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime? Mexico is calling, and I'm here to make sure it's a honeymoon you'll never forget. Get in touch, and let's make your honeymoon dreams a reality!

We visited Puerto Vallarta at the beginning of August 2023, which is considered one of the rainiest months (Sept is also rainy), oops! We still had a good time and were able to do all the excursions we had planned since the rain/thunderstorms usually occurred late afternoon or overnight. Apparently, the best time to visit is between April and June for good weather and affordable prices
For our 1 week trip to Puerto Vallarta, we spent the first half at an all-inclusive resort and the second half in an Airbnb so we could explore the local cuisine! I would definitely recommend doing both!
