The Laugavegur Trail is probably Iceland's most famous hiking trail that showcases some of Iceland's most stunning natural landscapes. The trail stretches approximately 55 kilometers (34mi) from Landmannalaugar to ĆžĆ³rsmƶrk. Often the trail is combined with the FimmvƶrĆ°uhĆ”ls, which adds another 25 kilometers to SkĆ³gar on the ocean in the south. The terrain is extremely varied. You pass through black lava fields, along geothermal areas with steamy vents and boiling hot springs, over colorful mountains, by white glaciers, through lush green valleys and by some of Iceland's biggest waterfalls. This guide includes the route and campsites as seen in my Youtube film and is suitable for beginner and experienced backpackers. It is suitable for both camping, as well as overnighting in the refuges along the way. What this guide includes: - A flexible itinerary for different lengths and difficulty levels - Distances, best overnight (camping) options, and other useful waypoints - Custom Google Maps with all the important locations, such as campsites, grocery stores, airports, trails, public transport stops, and viewpoints - GPX-tracks of all the routes - Practical information on how to get there, how to get around, when to go, trail conditions, weather, geography, and more. - Detailed descriptions of the trekking route, including landmarks, terrain, and elevation changes. Have you ever dreamt about travelling to Iceland? Here I share the most complete 8-day itinerary along the Ring Road in Iceland! After having lived in Iceland for more than 1 year, I want to share with you my best tips based on my experience for travelling around one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and that I like to call home. Iā€™m also sharing special places and not only the most popular ones. What to consider before reading: ā€¢ Personally, I believe that the most enjoyable way to travel around Iceland is by Campervan ā€¢ The most important thing to pack is different layers of clothes, no matter what season you are in ā€¢ Bare in mind that it's illegal to camp outside campings in Iceland (this is under your own responsibility) and this guide is not focusing on camping sites. ā€¢ Be aware of the fast changing and though Icelandic weather. ā€¢ Bring eye mask to sleep (there's almost no darkness during the Midnight Sun). ā€¢ Feel free to modify the starting point of the road trip (either starting from the South or the West) according to the weather forecast (although it can be unpredictible). ā€¢ I would not recommend taking detours that I suggest along the blog if weather conditions are not good. ā€¢ Note that the maximum speed limit in Iceland is 90 km/h in main roads, make sure you don't overpass the limit. Traffic fines are very expensive in Iceland, you don't want to pay one! And be careful with sheep! They are constantly crossing the road. And most importantly, ENJOY YOUR TRIP TO ICELAND!! šŸ˜œšŸ‡®šŸ‡ø *all the pictures in this blog are mine otherwise stated

šŸ‡®šŸ‡ø 3-Day Itinerary - Explore Iceland's South Coast. āœØ Must-See places. šŸ’Ž Hidden Gems. šŸ‘‰ Insider info for every stop. ā° How long to stay at each spot. šŸš— Drive times. šŸ” Best places to stay. šŸ¦ Local food. šŸ“ø Photography tips. ā˜€ļø March to October are the perfect months to follow this itinerary, with sufficient daylight to complete everything according to the timing provided and the best chance to have good weather. šŸ“ø The itinerary is timed to arrive at each spot when the light is optimal (March through October) and when the locations are less crowded (fewer tour buses). ā˜”ļø But it's Iceland, so be prepared for some rain and wind. ā„ļø November to February: While itā€™s possible to visit all locations during the winter, there are two challenges: ā„ļø Winter driving conditions ā˜€ļø Limited amount of daylight. šŸ‘‰ More info on driving in Iceland at the bottom of the itinerary. āš ļø Caution: Trails at Reykjadalur Thermal River & Svartifoss Waterfall could be icy. ā˜€ļø Sunrise will dictate a later start in the winter, but the itinerary should still be doable in 3 days. ā° While this itinerary times everything out, including how long it takes to drive to the next stop and how long to spend at each destination... feel free to take it at your own pace. āž”ļø When you're ready to head to the next stop simply use the Directions/Go button next to the "address" which links to the map (Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze) to help you navigate.
