Let the adventure begin!
Planning your Trip
You are likely deep into planning your trip to Iceland right now, so before we jump into the specific locations lets go over a few important aspects you need to consider when travelling through the highlands of Iceland.
Best Time To Go
The best time to visit the Highlands is from late June through September. And there is a simple reason for it: Accessibility. Most highland roads are impassable and closed for the majority of the year, but in late June the gravel roads are clear of snow and ice and the 'only' thing you have to deal with is the meltwater in the form of rivers you have to ford.
