ICELAND | THE DEFINITIVE RING ROAD PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDE

ICELAND | THE DEFINITIVE RING ROAD PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDE

Carlo Muies
Whether you have a professional camera or an iPhone. This guide will take you on a photographic journey around the famous ring road that encircles the entire country, visiting some of the most epic photographic spots the land of fire & ice has to offer. From off the beaten path locations to the classics you are sure to be awe-struck by the landscape. Active volcanoes, waterfalls & wild horses make Iceland one of the most unique places in the world for a photographer to visit. This guide collects all the spots you'll want to hit - including all the classic shots you've seen online + some new locations that are harder to find. Use the photos I've shared of each spot + the interactive map included to identify the spots you most want to see & plan out your own trip accordingly. :)

ARRIVAL ✈️

When arriving at KEF airport, head over to the rental desks to pick up your vehicle, this is the best way to travel around the country. Campers are the easiest way to explore the whole island without having the need to go back to Reykjavik.

There are a huge amount of companies offering camper vans ranging from barebones 2 person vans to luxury off-road Mercedes vehicles that come with onboard showers & can for 6 people.

REYKJAVIK & WEST📍

The world most northern capital & largest city on the island. Reykjavic can trace its history back to the Vikings. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church, food scene & nightlife make this one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, especially in summer when the midnight sun arrives from May to July.
