Montreux is my hometown and I share here my ultimate itinerary if you only have one day in Montreux (+ some stuff to do if you do have more than one day!). Montreux is a famous city in Western Switzerland, situated along the shores of the Lake Geneva. The two most famous events are The Montreux Jazz Festival and The Xmas Market. Definitely something you need to experience once in your lifetime! But Montreux attract people year round and is a beautiful and charming city to visit at anytime! Feel free to adjust the itinerary to your wants and needs!

Looking to go on a day-hike during your vacation, an overnight backpacking adventure, or a peak to reach with nice views? This guide is for you if you want to explore local hikes in the South-West (French Speaking part) of Switzerland, easily reachable from the Lake Geneva. Some hike suggestions can be done in a day. Probably most of them. But if you don't want to run and want to enjoy the adventure and the views, you can sleep in a tent or cabin once you are at the top. Because the sunrise/sunset is always worth it! The only app you need to help you around during your hike is: SwitzerlandMobility. In there you will find every information you need about hikes you want to do! These hikes are not for everyone. Some are more difficult and take in between 2-5 hours to complete. Always double check if they are not closed and be ready for any weather!

Nestled in the heart of France, Lyon is known as the country's culinary capital. This city brims with life and a wealth of attractions waiting to be explored. While it ranks among France's most significant urban centers, two days are often sufficient to take in its many offerings. Lyon's unique charm stems from being traversed by two winding rivers, which bestow upon it a distinct allure. Multiple bridges gracefully connect the city's three main districts: the historic Old Town (Vieux Lyon), the peninsula known as Presqu'île, and the riverbanks on the right bank of the Rhône. For a short stay, it's advisable to choose accommodations as centrally located as possible, ensuring easy access to the city's primary points of interest. While Lyon is mostly walkable, do keep in mind that it encompasses several hilly areas, particularly the Fourvière Hill. For those less inclined to undertake the uphill journey on foot, there's a cable car service available to ascend the heights. Should you wish to extend your journey, Lyon harmoniously pairs with other destinations such as Paris, Dijon (and the Burgundy region), Geneva, and Annecy.
