Tips and tricks

1. Public Transport Hack: use the Geneva Transport Card, which offers free access to buses, trams, and boats for anyone staying at a hotel, hostel, or campsite.

2. Bargain at the Farmers’ Market: visit the Plainpalais market on Saturdays for fresh produce and local delicacies at lower prices than in stores.

3. Best Chocolate: don’t miss Auer Chocolatier near Rue du Rhône for some of the best handmade Swiss chocolates.

4. Water Taxis (Mouettes): these little yellow boats are part of Geneva’s public transport system and offer a scenic, cheap way to cross Lake Geneva.

5. Tap Water: Geneva’s tap water is some of the purest in the world, so you can refill your bottle at any of the city's public fountains.
