Results for Nature

The Faroe Islands are the kind of place you would visit for a maximum of a week, as it is an expensive destination, much like Iceland. Renowned for its spectacular sea cliff formations, puffins, and bird watching, this archipelago is perfect for any nature explorer. Although not as large as Iceland, the Faroe Islands consist of 18 main islands, some of which are easily reachable while others require a private helicopter or special permission. It is necessary to get a car rental to get around, as public transportation is infrequent, and without a car, you may be limited in terms of places you can visit. This itinerary is based on a car road trip. Tips: No cash is needed as everything can be paid for with a credit card. Check the ferry schedule online at https://www.ssl.fo/en/home. Supermarkets are closed on Sundays, except for Mylnan. Always verify the opening hours of takeaways and restaurants on their Facebook pages, as the opening hours on Google Maps may not be up to date. Most cafes and restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There aren't many food places outside of the capital Tórshavn, so do plan for your meals, be it eating at cafes or restaurants or simply stocking on basic food necessities from the supermarkets. Purchase alcoholic beverages and soda at the airport for a lower price. Make sure to buy them before leaving the airport! Welcome to the Azores, a group of nine volcanic islands and an autonomous region of Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! Often referred to as the "Hawaii of Europe," these islands will amaze you with their breath-taking scenery, adorable towns, and many unique activities. The Azores are still an off-the-beaten-path destination, so you'll enjoy a quiet and nature-filled escape without compromising on wonderful food and experiences. This guide is a full five-day itinerary that will introduce you to the Green Island of the Azores, Sao Miguel - the easiest island to get to and around, and the largest and most populated of the nine. Five days is the perfect amount of time to see all sides of the island at a relaxed pace, with flexible time to do what you're most excited about - hiking, eating & drinking wine, swimming in hot springs, etc. The itinerary is based around having a car to drive around the island (and I include information about how to rent one!). For each of these five days, I give you a full list of recommended activities based on the must-see sights and attractions of Sao Miguel, from exploring historic Ponta Delgada, getting to the best viewpoints over the island's iconic lakes and coasts, going whale watching, relaxing in natural thermal hotsprings, and having wonderful dining experiences. I've included options based on your interests (relaxation, nature, culture), so it's easy to pick just one if you want a slower pace, or scale up if you're the kind of traveler who wants to do it all. I also provide recommended restaurants, bars, and accommodations around the island where you'll be staying. There's truly something for everyone in Sao Miguel, and with this guide, you'll have the perfect foundation and ease of mind to make the trip your own!

Imagine a string of five vibrant pearls strung along a rugged coastline. This is Cinque Terre, where pastel-painted houses tumble down cliffsides, meeting the sparkling turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Unlike the bustling French Riviera, Cinque Terre offers a slower pace, a place to wander cobbled streets and savor the charm of a bygone era. Hike between villages on breathtaking trails, breathing in the salty air and the scent of lemon groves. Dive into hidden coves for a refreshing swim, or simply relax on a sun-warmed rock, mesmerized by the endless blue horizon. For a taste of adventure, explore the dramatic cliffs and hidden inlets by kayak, or delve into the underwater world teeming with colorful marine life. Cinque Terre is a place where time seems to slow down, inviting you to reconnect with nature's beauty and the simple pleasures of life. This guide includes: - introductory note - places to visit (museums and cultural venues, open squares, beaches and others) - restaurants and coffeeshops - photo spots Get to see more from my travels on my Instagram (@pedralexpereira) and Flickr (flickr.com/photos/pedralexpereira)

This guide will save you many hours of trying to puzzle together an optimal itinerary for your first trip to Morocco in 7 days. I just came back and my planning efforts worked out so well I decided to write it all up. If you want to discover Morocco by yourself without going on organized trips, my guide won't disappoint you. It's perfectly doable and so much more fun! I spent several days trying to puzzle together different combinations by measuring driving distances in google maps and so on, and I ended up with this perfect itinerary. When we got back, we couldn't believe how perfect our trip was. Where to stay, best spot to rent a car, the best place to get a local SIM card, two breathtaking half-day hikes, how much to pay for food or souvenirs, ... it's all in here. 🚘🌴🥾 It’s perfect for those who want to self-drive, hike in nature and explore cultural sites at their own pace while avoiding organised tours and begin crammed in a minivan for hours on end. There's really no need for that. I'm a cook so naturally I'm interested in good food, especially when there's a good value for the money to be had. I'll share my restaurant and street food recommendations together with what we paid so you have a good idea of what to expect. If you want to save many hours of researching road trip itineraries and simply want to kick-start your first week to Morocco, you won't be disappointed! This is the itinerary my friends are all asking me about and you'll understand why.
