This is a guide for Athens and Alimos Greece. If you are not familiar with Alimos (I wasn't either), it is a seaside town on the coast and is very close to Athens. It makes for a great city break from the heat of Athens. If you are heading to the Greek Islands for the summer it's very likely you'll pass through Athens. There is a wealth of things to do here. We've been a few times now and I still have things on my list that I'd like to see and do in future trips. This guide will cover all of the things that I have personally done, seen, and eaten in Athens. *Including a mini street food our that we personally created and did! It will also cover things I have researched that sound amazing and that I wish to do on future trips. Why Athens? Personally I find Athens to be an incredible city. Not everyone wants to spend time in Athens, but we really enjoyed Athens and found it had a lot to offer. There are lots of great things to do and see here and so much history. We have visited twice so this guide for Athens will include quite a bit. You can pick and choose what you would find most enjoyable for a day or two here at the beginning and possibly also the end of your trip. I am going to divide this Athens portion into 2 sections. The first will be for more of the heart of Athens and first timers or people who love all of the main and major things in the city. We also created our own mini street food tour here and that is included as well.   The second section is with a base in Alimos. This is likely for people who have already been to Athens and have seen all of the history and main sites. Or for people who just don't care and would rather beach and chill during their day or two in Athens.

The New Town, which was built in the 18th century, is home to many of the city's Georgian buildings. Edinburgh is also a major center for arts and culture, with many museums, theaters, and art galleries. The city is also home to the University of Edinburgh, one of the oldest universities in the English-speaking world.

We loved Lagos! Lagos felt like the perfect mix of authentic culture and also was touristy enough to keep us very entertained! It was wonderful to be able to walk to so many beaches, and hiking along the coast was one of our favorite things we did during this trip. We loved the food and the kindness of all of the people we met. Even the streets in Lagos were creative and decorative. The great thing about this area is that if you have a car you can access SO MUCH within an hour of Lagos. I will not list anything in this guide that is beyond an hour. MOST things in this guide you can do entirely without a car, but I will list some things in which a car will be required. I will split the guide into two sections.. with and without car. Believe me there is PLENTY to do here either way! This guide will include all of the things we did while in Lagos. It will include our favorite beaches, places to eat, and things to do. Last November, I went on a short solo trip to Taipei to catch a concert. 4 days feels neither too short nor too long. Most people wouldn't spend 4 whole days in just Taipei alone but there is so much to explore in this colourful city! If you’re thinking of going to Iceland and including the Westfjords in your trip, this guide is made for you. I have been living in the Westfjords for 2 years now and started working as a tourist guide alongside my studies. I have traveled around the country and I still think that the Westfjords are among the most remote and beautiful places. When people go to Iceland, they often come for 7 or 10 days around the ring road, and skip the Westfjords due to lack of time or because they have never heard of the Westfjords. This small region of 7,000 inhabitants has so much to show you. You do need a good car and a few days to visit it though, because roads are winding and are subject to the harsh climate (check veður.is) Roads are often closed in the winter (check road.is), but it is an incredible time to go to the Westfjords to see snowy fjords and northern lights.
