I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie and when I travel, I look for at least one thrill-seeking activity. I found one of the longest and fastest zip lines in the world and it's just outside of Rome! However, finding my way outside of Rome to this small commune was not easy as this isn't your typical Rome tourist activity! That's why I made this guide to help my fellow thrill-seekers.
This guide is part of my 12 day trip to Italy as a solo female foodie thrill seeker that I took back in March 2022.
It details a one day trip in and around Rome and includes:
🛏️ Hostel experience
🚆 Transportation tips
🍴 Local + non-touristy spots to eat at
🏞️ Scenic photo spots
🚶🏻♀️Rome city center walking tour

It wouldn’t be a complete trip to Rome without a little shopping. Even though we have a main ‘shopping area’, there are smaller shops/boutiques spread around the city (which I much prefer to big brands!). Here is my guide to make your (shopping) life easier and hopefully you will be able to bring back home a beautiful memory of the Eternal city
This guide includes a mix of food, clothing, jewellery, kitchen/house wear, and beauty/personal care (the guide is divided by categories)

Roman cuisine is so much more than the ordinary pasta and pizza that everyone assumes at first instance. Being highly influenced by the 'poor person's' concept of cooking, our cuisine is filled with traditional historic recipes, which have been handed down through several generations and transformed over the course of time.
With hundreds of restaurants all serving their own versions of classics and innovative dishes, you will have a culinary experience that will exceed your expectations.
Having said this, Rome can be a very confusing and overwhelming city to visit. With so many restaurants, bars and food establishments in general to choose from, it's very easy to fall into tourist traps.
This is my guide with all my favourite food and beverage spots that you must visit when in Rome!

One of the cities that inspires me the most in this life. It is one of the most special places that has completely stolen my heart and I am always eager to visit.
Palermo is a symphony of sunlight and shadow, where ancient stones whisper secrets to the sapphire sky. Here, the heart of Sicily beats with a timeless rhythm, resonating through golden domes and crumbling facades. In the Palatine Chapel, mosaics glisten like a celestial map, guiding souls through a cosmos of faith and wonder. The markets, vibrant and alive, are a fragrant collage of spices and citrus, each stall a verse in an epic poem of flavors.
Streets wind like verses of an ancient epic, leading to hidden piazzas where the laughter of children mingles with the echo of history. Palatial splendor and humble dwellings coexist in a harmonious dance, a testament to the city’s enduring spirit. As the sun sets over the Tyrrhenian Sea, Palermo’s skyline transforms into a silhouette of dreams, where the past and present meld into a twilight of eternal beauty. Here, every stone, every breath, is a stanza in the grand poem of existence, inviting all who wander through its embrace to become part of its endless story.
