The ocean colors along this coast are worth the trip on their own, but Nice has so much more to offer! Besides being a perfect base to explore the Côte d’Azur, there’s a lot in the city deserving your attention. In this guide, I'm sharing all the favorite spots and helpful tips I gathered from the times I visited Nice. If we exclude day trips, these activities can easily fit into a weekend getaway. But you’ll probably want to spend more time in Nice to allow you to explore other towns and beaches nearby. This guide also includes updated information about public transportation. The system changed in July 2023, just a few days before I visited Nice for the second time, and even locals were having a hard time figuring it out.

I am going to recommend incredible day trips along the Côte D’Azur that you will simply not want to miss. My suggestions and tips come from firsthand experience of spending two weeks in the South of France in April 2023. I’ll cover how to get to each of these eight destinations, what to expect, and how to make the most of your time.

Scotland is famous for kilts, interesting accents, and spectacular landscapes. I have been to Scotland twice. There is much to see and do, so choose your destinations and make a plan. Edinburgh is a magical place with ancient history and recent artistry. I recommend purchasing one of the hop-on-hop-off tour companies to get around to all the attractions. Reservations are key in this city from the castle to restaurants. Use the local apps to reserve.

Looking to go on a day-hike during your vacation, an overnight backpacking adventure, or a peak to reach with nice views? This guide is for you if you want to explore local hikes in the South-West (French Speaking part) of Switzerland, easily reachable from the Lake Geneva. Some hike suggestions can be done in a day. Probably most of them. But if you don't want to run and want to enjoy the adventure and the views, you can sleep in a tent or cabin once you are at the top. Because the sunrise/sunset is always worth it! The only app you need to help you around during your hike is: SwitzerlandMobility. In there you will find every information you need about hikes you want to do! These hikes are not for everyone. Some are more difficult and take in between 2-5 hours to complete. Explore Iceland Ring Road in 5 days. More than 1800 km in less than a week might sound like a challenge when you are traveling with kids but with multiple exciting stops on the way and a good night sleep in between the complaints will be limited. Kids will especially enjoy the drive during the summer when you can see a lot of animals (mostly 🐑) during the whole drive. June is especially nice to visit Iceland because there are a lot of baby animals that are such an excitement to spot!
