Traveling has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that I truly fell in love with exploring my own country. Top 3 things to see & do if you're visiting the city for a short period of time only:
1️⃣ The "Curiosity Garden" ("le jardin des curiosités") for the best panoramic views of the city away from the crowds! 📸
This hidden gem is 🆓 to visit and open all year long, it offers similar views to the famous Fourvière viewpoint but without the crowds and the location is mostly known of locals.
2️⃣ Take a stroll along the river Saône (there's a walking path) and take a minute to take in the scenery. ✨ Admire the old town's reflection on the water, the colourful brides and houses with the Fourvière Hill in the background and it's 2 most iconic Lyon landmarks: the cathedral ("Basilique de Fourvière") and the TV tower - known by the locals as Lyon's own Eiffel Tower.
3️⃣ Explore the famous park ("Parc de la Tête d'Or") and it's botanical garden. 🌿 Perfect for having a picnic with friends on a sunny day. The parc is 🆓 to visit and has some animals, a rose garden, a botanical garden, a lake and so much more!
