Milan
@postcardsfromrachael
Milan offers all the advantages of a large city, but it's relatively small, thus making it perfect to visit, as tourists can get to most of the city’s attractions and museums on foot.
Some of the city’s most beautiful attractions include the Duomo di Milano, an impressive Opera House, a striking castle, ancient churches, and a great variety of museums and art galleries.

Como

Sitting in a lush if crowded basin at the southern tip of its namesake lake, Como is a self-confident and historic town, established by Julius Caesar as an Alpine garrison and Roman holiday resort in the 1st century BC.

Bellagio
@postcardsfromrachael
Bellagio is a small jewel located on the promontory that separates the two southern branches of Lake Como, those culminating in the cities of Como and Lecco.
It is one of the most glamorous and romantic destinations in Lombardy and Italy. In fact, the well-known “Pearl of Lake Como” is home to a colorful historic center, beautiful gardens, charming neighborhoods (such as Pescallo or San Giovanni), and much more

Menaggio
@postcardsfromrachael
Menaggio is a beautiful town of ancient origins overlooking Lake Como.
The characteristics of Menaggio make this town unique: those who simply want to relax and experience the atmosphere of the lake can walk through the narrow streets of the historic center and along the very elegant lakefront, one of the longest on Lake Como.
Those who love nature, on the other hand, can choose from several routes that offer unique views and flavors.

Varenna
@postcardsfromrachael
Varenna is a picturesque and traditional village, located on the eastern shore of Lake Como, Italy. It is an essential stop for anyone wishing to visit one of the most typical and peaceful towns of the lake.
This small village, where you can still breathe in the traditions of yesteryear (above all, fishing), is home to elegant villas with botanical gardens (such as Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi) and beautiful walks between history and nature (Castle of Vezio and Sentiero del Viandante).

Top picks for food
Florence
Zio Gigi
@postcardsfromrachael
If you want to visit an authentic family-run Italian resurgent then I would highly recommend Zio Gigi. This had the most amazing spaghetti bolognese I had on my 2-month Italy trip and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, The chef even came out and helped clear away plates and sang opera in Italian. This was just something so simple and authentic but it was one of my highlights of the trip.
