A 5-day guide to Bali based on our personal trip recently in April 2023.
Some general advice for Bali:
Bali is huge and there are many areas to cover. Plan your trip and destinations based on location as traffic can be pretty bad! There's lots to see and food/drinks/massages are super affordable.
I hope you enjoy this guide.
Any tips would be appreciated 😊
Enjoy your day at your resort, use the spa and pool facilities and relax! We enjoyed our spa treatment at the Ritz Carlton as well as lounging by the beach / pool. They also included a free photography session in which they provided you with a free copy of a photo and they are also available for purchase.Â

Tip: There are many entry points into the Tegallalang rice terrace and they all merge once you get into the rice terraces! It doesn't matter too much where you enter, the main difference being the entry fee they charge as well as photographic opportunities (eg. the famous Bali swings!)Â
This was a lovely experience for fine dining in Ubud. They seated us in a private table outdoors and all the food from amuse bouche to petit fours were incredible. The best part is that they use local ingredients for their menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're a foodie!
Would highly recommend booking the Jeep tour via Klook - this saves you the hike at 2am and is a really fun experience going up Mount Batur! Be prepared for rain and fog however (meaning you may not get to see the sunrise).
You can see monkeys outside the forest already roaming around in Ubud but if you decide to go to the monkey forest be cautious as they can be quite aggressive!
I’m a doctor who loves food and travel. I was born in Singapore but grew up in Taipei, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur. I have since lived in London/Southampton for 7.5 years. My guides will mainly be focused on food and attractions!
