Where to Stay in Paris by Arrondissement & Things to Do In Each

Where to Stay in Paris by Arrondissement & Things to Do In Each

I have been to Paris 7 times now and will be heading there for the 8th time in the Spring. It's my favorite city in the world and there are so many wonderful things to do and see. There are also an ENDLESS supply of hotels. What I'm going to do with this guide is give you a few hotels in each arrondissement that I would book for myself if I wanted to stay in that area, and a few things near each that you can do. I have spent literally days of my life looking at hotels, things to do, areas to stay, and anything & everything you can imagine about Paris Travel. Paris is actually quite easy to navigate and there is a lot you can do and see no matter where you stay. But it's always nice to have access to a few things in the immediate area of your accommodation. I hope this guide is helpful, and as always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions at planformedani@gmail.com or planforme.dani on instagram!

This location is tough, unless you've got a ton of money. This spot seems like a perfectly nice place, in the right area, with good reviews, that will do the job! If we were going to stay in the 1st this is the kind of place we'd stay. Until I hit the lottery!

If you're into a bit of an alternative art scene you'll LOVE this spot. It is free to enter, though they take donations. There are just rooms on rooms on rooms of amazing artists on display. Artists are working in here as you walk through, selling their work, and displaying their latest. It is SO neat to see as so many artists of all types come together in one place. We absolutely loved walking through here and exploring.

Seine
@planformedani
Walking along the river is one of the best experiences in Paris. One of my favorite things to do is walk from the Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower along the river. Take it all in, shop in the little spots along the river, and just enjoy the amazing Paris vibes. Along the way you can stay up on the main road, check out so many beautiful bridges, head down and walk alongside the river, watch the boats go by, etc.

Sainte-Chapelle

Absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite churches we've seen around the world. The stained glass is just unreal. I highly recommend booking the very first time slot of the day and getting there a little bit early. We were some of the first people in, and it made everything so smooth and easy. We did the combined ticket so we were able to see the Conciergerie as well and it was well worth it. We really enjoyed this experience. I included a link here if you want a guided tour.

I giggled while entering this because OBVIOUSLY you need to see the Eiffel Tower. I think going inside and going up to the top is a worthwhile adventure to. It truly is neat to see from the inside. The best part is having a picnic on the lawn though. Make sure to bring some drinks and snacks and grab a blanket or towel from your hotel to sit on and stay to watch the sparkle. We do this every time we are in Paris without fail.

Hôtel du Square d'Anvers

*** For one of my favorite views in all of Paris you need to book the superior double or superior triple room. If you do not book those rooms you will not have the Eiffel and Sacre Coeur view. But if you score those rooms the balcony is one of my fav places on earth. This is a bare bones 2 star hotel that is honestly not my favorite stay in terms of interior. You will have the basics that you need, no AC so that is something to consider in the warmer months. The staff is very kind here. Just know that everything is dated but the location is excellent in my opinion.

This hotel is beautiful and clean. The room and bed were VERY comfortable. You can book a superior room here to try to get a balcony view of the Eiffel Tower. If you do get this room the view is incredible. I emailed multiple times before my trip asking for the view but they just said "they couldn't guarantee" it. So I can't promise it either, but I can promise you that if you get it, it will be worth it. The neighborhood and area is peaceful but a bit out of the way of the main attractions. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Danielle and I have been planning trips for the past 10 years. One thing special and unique about my guides is that I am not producing guides that I didn't currently use myself. The places in my guides are places I have been, the itineraries are itineraries that I have personally followed. Everything is real and I have vetted myself. My travel planning story started with a honeymoon to Italy and since then it has grown each and every year. I love all kinds of travel! It's hard to fine a niche because I fit into so many categories. I love nature, hiking, and being outdoors. I love beaches and sunsets and sipping wine and cocktails in pretty places. I love learning about people and cultures and history. I love street art and busy cities and I also love small towns and quieter places. I will sleep in a hostel and I enjoy a beautiful hotel. I love South and Central America and I am obsessed with Europe. I've been to Asia twice and hope to get back in the next few years. I love to eat and one thing you'll always get from me are true and great reviews of places that I've personally eaten! I have just returned from Albania and I am working on guides from that trip! My full time job is as a School Leader of Social and Emotional Learning in Philadelphia. All my travel is done on school breaks and in the summer. I have still managed to visit over 36 countries and countless cities along the way. Being a teacher my whole life is about planning and I do believe I am exceptional at it. I work VERY hard to plan incredible trips and now you can hopefully benefit from that as well!
