"The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. The Triumphal Arch is in honor of those who fought for France (and in particular, those who fought during the Napoleonic wars). There are inscriptions in the ground underneath the vault of the arch which include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I where the Memorial Flame burns. The Arc de Triomphe is a patriotic site.

"The Arc de Triomphe stands as a monumental tribute to the French military, commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806 to honor his victorious armies. Towering at 50 meters (164 feet), the structure is adorned with intricate reliefs depicting significant battles and triumphs from France's history. At its base lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, commemorating soldiers who died in World War I, with an eternal flame that burns in their honor. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase to the top for stunning views of the Champs-Élysées and the city beyond, especially enchanting at sunset. Its central location at the Place Charles de Gaulle, where 12 grand avenues converge, makes it a focal point of Parisian life and history."
