I have spent a lot of time here getting off the beaten path and seeing many things beyond the main sites.  I have tried some popular things like going up in the Eiffel Tower and visiting the Notre Dame and some popular spots to eat and hang out.  But I have also gotten way off the beaten path with things like a Street Art tour in the Belleville neighborhood, or visiting some more quirky dinner spots.

I've traveled to Paris more than 10x in the last decade. I didn't particularly enjoy the city on my first visit but it has somehow drawn me back many times! My first recommendation is to follow the example of the French - don't attempt to see everything in one day but take time to sit at a cafe and/or restaurant, people-watch, and rest your feet!

Berthillon

You must, must, must get this ice cream/sorbet.  This is a famous spot in Paris and for good reason.  It's probably one of my favorite frozen treats I've ever eaten in my life.  

The best ice cream in Paris! Either get it to take away whilst you stroll through the gorgeous streets of Île Saint-Louis, or sit in the beautiful wood panelled tea room.  

Suggestion from Local Passport Family—get the salted caramel or mango!

Paris most famous ice-creams, for many the best in town.
