During my 7 months travelling Europe last year, I visited Split 3 times, including a one month stay volunteering at a party hostel, so you could say I'm a pretty big fan of this city!
I didn't learn to speak much Croatian, but I did start to feel more like a local and know my way around the beautiful city and surroundings.
This guide will detail some of my favourite things to do in this gorgeous Old Town, including places to eat, drink, party, beaches, day trips and more!

Planning a trip to Split, Croatia? Find out in this article the best things you need to add to your itinerary, recommendations for private guided tours and for accommodation.
Split is Croatia’s second-largest city and should be included in your itinerary if you plan to visit this country. Paint this picture: a maze of narrow streets, colorful buildings, historic landmarks, cobblestoned lanes and a beautiful promenade with palm trees, sounds pretty amazing, right?! To be honest, it was one of my favorite cities in Croatia (only second after Dubrovnik).

Ćevapi is a traditional Balkan dish, originating from the areas surrounding Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. The dish is considered a staple in a majority of the countries' cuisine in the Balkan Peninsula--sparking a huge debate about which country has the best ćevapi! During my time spent in the Balkans, I created a personal ranking of places with the tastiest ćevapi, which I am sharing with you below!

One of my favorite countries I have ever visited is Croatia! It has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. I flew into Zagreb and would only recommend spending one day in the capital. It is not that impressive of a capital city. I highly recommend flying to Dubrovnik and staying 2-3 days. Then taking a bus to Split. The scenery from the bus of the Dalmatian coast will be unforgettable!

Split is one of those places where the contrasting colours of it's blue waters, green flora, and terracotta roofs all meet together in a snapshot, and it's enough to make your eyes water. Vast mountain ranges form a stunning backdrop to the town edging the Adriatic Coast.
Come explore this beautiful, historical town with me!

From cheese, olives, and olive oil to fish, impeccable wine, cured meat, and the famous Istrian truffles, Croatia is a must-visit destination for every foodie.
Having spent most of my life in Croatia before moving to London, I enjoy returning home to savour traditional Croatian food made vegan and explore restaurants across the country.
The guide also includes vegan and vegetarian-friendly stays around the country.
