You'll find our favorite restaurants, activities, and a few day trips included in this guide. Here are some travel tips: 1. The trains STOP at around 7PM; so make sure you plan your dinner reservations accordingly. The app you want is called "Trenitalia" - I've included a link to the app under "Day Trips" below. 2. Take all of your normal public safety precautions; pickpocketing and side scams are common. 3. If the gelato is mounded so high it's reaching towards the heavens, it's not for you. 4. If there are waiters outside waving you in with bold English menus, say "no, grazi". 5. Always ask if the establishment accepts credit cards before you order. 6. Prepare to tip your tour guides well, especially if your tour was "Free". 7. Do not pass up on a wine window!! This city's beautiful and unique, hidden gems.

Here's my 3-day itinerary for a long weekend spent in the unique capital of Portugal, Lisbon. If you have an extra day I highly recommend a day at one of the many golden sand beaches along the Costa da Caparica, up to 40 minutes away by Uber. My top tip for your Lisbon city break: Uber and Bolt taxis are your best friend! If in a large group, these taxi services can be just as cheap as public transport and always arrive quickly. Bolt often offers discounts of up to 70% off your first ride if you have never used the app before, so save this for a longer and more expensive trip, say to the beach or to Sintra!

Scotland is famous for kilts, interesting accents, and spectacular landscapes. I have been to Scotland twice. There is much to see and do, so choose your destinations and make a plan. Edinburgh is a magical place with ancient history and recent artistry. I recommend purchasing one of the hop-on-hop-off tour companies to get around to all the attractions. Reservations are key in this city from the castle to restaurants. Use the local apps to reserve.
