Tuscan specialities & regional wines served in a rustic-chic dining room with exposed brick. This restaurant is on the left side of the Arno but very easy to get to by crossing the Ponte Vecchio.

Trattoria Cammillo

Also on the left side of the Arno, closest to Ponte Santa Trinita. It is a cozy white-tablecloth venue with an arched brick ceiling, serving homestyle pasta & classic Italian mains.

Wonderfully rustic with hearty Tuscan dishes like Florentine steaks paired with Tuscan wine.

Trattoria Sostanza
@itslauraining
This tiny hole in the wall in the center of town feels like a diner but with incredibly food. Know for chicken cooked in butter.

Pizzagnolo
@itslauraining
Excellent pizzas with a decent amount of options. The owner and head chef is young but knows what he is doing. The space is vibrant but minimal and has a lot of young energy. It's a fun spot for a guaranteed to be good pie.

Osteria Vecchio Cancello
@itslauraining
There are two locations in Florence but try to get to the original (this one) if you can. The food is incredible and very authentically Tuscan. A must-try is the Fiorentina steak.
The service is wonderful and sometimes they even send you home with a free bottle of wine!

Trattoria Il Contadino
@itslauraining
This low frills, long-running restaurant is serving up all the traditional Tuscan dishes on a less busy street. Try the potatoes!

Curated guides, tailor-made itineraries, and insider travel tips for unforgettable adventures in Italy.
Specializing in local food, wine, cocktails, and unique exploration - particularly in Rome but also in regions and towns north to south. I have experience planning trips to destinations ranging from small towns in Tuscany with a population of 29, to Italy's largest cities.
My recommendations are carefully selected based on quality, location, and overall experience. Typically in centrally located areas so that you won't have to travel too far from any city center to find the best of the best - without falling into tourist traps!
Ideal for solo travelers or couples, whether you're seasoned visitors or first-timers, my guides cater to those seeking a less mainstream, more DIY adventure with a mix of traditional sightseeing and authentic local experiences that emphasize the flavors of the country.
