As someone who values walkability, San Sebastian is the perfect sized town to get your steps in while still being realistic. I never used public transportation unless I was visiting a neighboring town. The roads and sidewalks are very pedestrian-friendly. Why? Planning an entire day or trip’s worth of activities can be intimidating! Especially if you don’t have a lay of the land and a grasp on the different neighborhoods. You don’t want to be crossing the river or going back and forth from Parte Vieja to Gros all day long, you want to make the most of your time!
