Overview

If you are looking to experience the best of Costa Rica I would suggest splitting your one week vacation between two of our favorite areas. Guanacaste (west coast) and Arenal. Pick up your rental car from the airport and spend your first 3 days at the beach. If you are able to get a flight into Liberia airport it's going to be closer to the Guanacaste area (about 1 hour). From San Jose it will be about 170 miles, it is a pretty easy drive.

After 3 days of exploring the beach, jump into your rental car and head to Arenal Volcano National Park. On the way be sure to stop at one of our favorite sites, Rio Celeste.

Spend the next few days Zip lining in the jungle, soaking in natural hot springs, and visiting a sloth sanctuary.
