Eating my way through Mexico City was my favorite thing to do in the 9 months that I lived there, and I took meticulous notes. These places not only wow in food, but in atmosphere - you eat with your eyes, too, right? Here I share with you the standouts, the must visits, and the dishes I still think about to this day.
Important sidenote! There's a good selection of contemporary Asian & international cuisine included. This is not a taco or mexican restaurant guide but rather the buzz-worthy hotspots that I've tried and would recommend to my inner circle. I've taken my time to recount what stands out to me about each place - including what dishes I'd order again.
Buen provecho!
Included with this guide:
✨ My personal notes about each restaurant, including must-try dishes
✨ An interactive map showing the locations
✨ Dining recommendations in the neighborhoods of Condesa, Roma Norte, Juarez & Colonia Cuauhtémoc

Did you ever wonder where "bolognese sauce" comes from? Well, this guide is finally going to answer that question! Bologna has so many things to offer I don't even know where to begin. Let me give you some reasons why you should read this guide:
- Bologna's Airport (BLQ) and Central train station connect the city to the rest of the country, all of Europe and several international destinations SUPER EASILY
- It's not cheap, but definitely cheaper than big cities like Rome, Venice or Florence. Because of its train station you might even consider staying in a smaller town nearby and saving money that way.
- You will be able to avoid huge crowds of tourists while experiencing local-living, especially thanks to the thousands of students who attend the University of Bologna.
- Whether you also want to spend a few days by the beach or go get some fresh air in the mountains, you will have the chance to do both!

🍕If you've landed here, you're a pizza fan. 🍕
Same, bestie.
I've spent the last 18 months investigating some of the best pizzas around the globe. It's a pretty serious study in the magic combination of dough, sauce, and cheese. From Top 50 contenders, to local spots in California, to where I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, I'm sharing some of the best slices in my book. And no, you won't see a deep dish slice on this list...tavern style all the way when you're in Chicago.
If the pizza is on this list, it's good pizza. If it has 5 🍕, then it is an exceptional pizza.

It's hard to think of an Italian meal without thinking of a wine to enjoy it with, and the food and wine in Italy could arguably be two of the top reasons to travel there.
Pairing your meal with the perfect wine makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable so to take the guesswork out of what will pair best, the following is a brief guide to some of Italy's most renowned regional dishes, spanning from north to south, along with a few recommended wine pairings for each.
Whether you're dining at an Italian restaurant at home or exploring local eateries in Italy, this guide will help you avoid becoming overwhelmed by extensive wine lists if you are unsure what to look for.
In Italy, feel free to also ask the waiter or sommelier for recommendations on what to drink with your food. They are likely to suggest a wine from the region you are in, not only to help support local wine growers and producers, but also so you have the chance to experience the authentic flavors of the area through both the food and the wine.
⭐️PRO TIP - While dining out, if you plan to enjoy wine with your meal but haven't decided on what you will be eating yet, start with a glass of sparkling wine. This way, you'll have something to sip on while reviewing the food and wine menus and making your choice. Sparkling wine is an excellent palate cleanser to prep you for a savory meal, and Italy has some of the best.
Buon Apetito!

Hungarian cuisine is said to be one of the spiciest in Europe, perhaps because we use a lot of paprika, black pepper and other spices. Majority of the dishes are based on meat, carbs and seasonal vegetables & fruits.
The list of dishes to try can be rather long, especially if the recommendation comes from a Hungarian. 🙂
Below you will find a highlight and a culinary map, which will hopefully help you decide where to eat in Budapest.
