La città è a stretto contatto con il territorio del Carso, regione storica, un altopiano roccioso calcareo che si estende tra la provincia di Gorizia e Trieste, Slovenia e Croazia, noto storicamente per essere stato teatro di violente battaglie durante la prima guerra mondiale, tra le truppe italiane e quelle austro - ungariche. In questa guida ti consiglio i migliori luoghi da visitare, i locali dove fermarti a mangiare qualcosa di tipicamente triestino ma soprattutto le aree verdi sperdute che nascondono paesaggi spettacolari da scoprire e l’arte posta sulle facciate di edifici storici, così in bella vista da risultare quasi anonime.
