The vibrant city-state of Singapore is nestled at the tip of the Malay Peninsula. This tiny island nation is a harmonious blend where tradition meets modernity. Singapore has a captivating history and rich cultural heritage that is celebrated through its diverse blend of ethnicities, languages, and religions. Singapore was once a small, old fishing village on the edge of the jungle. It went through an incredible transformation and turned into the bustling metropolis and the global economic powerhouse that it is today. Despite its futuristic architecture, Singapore's history is preserved throughout the city such as its lush green spaces, colonial black and white bungalows, and Peranakan shophouses. Singapore has so much to offer. The world-class Changi airport, immaculate cleanliness, vibrant street food culture, efficient public transportation, low crime rates, and strict governance (most famously, the chewing gum ban) to name a handful. The only downfalls I can think of are the insane heat and humidity as Singapore sits right on the equator. So why local-ish? I first visited Singapore when I was 6-months old. My dad was born and raised in Singapore. Funnily enough, one of my mom's brothers has lived there for 30 years and we've had a handful of other family members (on both sides) live there over the years too. I've lost count of how many times I've visited but it's definitely one of my favorite places in the world and feels a bit like home. If you've never been to Asia before, Singapore is the perfect destination to start with. It's like a stepping stone to the rest of the world. Here are all my recommendations on what to do, see, eat, and drink in Singapore. Scroll to the bottom for an overview of everything you need to know before booking your trip to the Lion City. As always, I'm happy to help you plan a custom itinerary for your trip to Singapore! Just reach out to me directly (:

I've spent one month exploring Vietnam so I've put together the perfect 15 days itinerary - with extendable options up to 20 days - including where I stayed (+ alternative options), excursions, restaurants and cafes I tried, all the info you need before traveling, getting around etc Planning a trip to Vietnam can be tough so you can easily replicate my trip and avoid headaches. LOCATIONS IN THIS ITINERARY -Hanoi -Halong bay -Sapa -Ninh Binh -Hoi An BUDGET CATEGORY: Vietnam is a really cheap country in general. You will find budget, mid-range and luxury options (some luxury options are actually affordable) IS VIETNAM FOR ME? Vietnam is for you if you are open to different cultures, you're ok with being uncomfortable and experience new things. This itinerary involves night bus or night train but don't worry. For most of the destinations, if you prefer, you can switch the night bus with a flight or private car. IS VIETNAM SAFE? Absolutely yes. Vietnam is a pretty safe country, like all the countries of South East Asia in general. People are very friendly and they will always try to help you in every way they can. It's actually a very common destination for solo female travelers NB this is not a PDF but an interactive guide which means that when you click on a place in the guide or map, you can directly open directions on your phone's Google Maps app, call restaurants or book hotels. Don't forget to dowload the free Thatch app to get easier access! Have more questions? Just send me a DM on IG or an email at wilbertandspace@gmail.com

From modern to traditional, from luxury to convenient…dining, shopping and sightseeing in this amazing city! You’ll find several options for great accommodation, as well. Istanbul is where Europe meets Asia and here you'll encounter elements from both continents. Mind yourself - this city is huge and really crowded. Traffic can be horrific at times and getting from one point to another could take up some time. Still, it's full of savory contrasts, echoes of the past and glimpses of the future and could easily get you addicted! Highlights: ☕️ Turkish coffee - whether it’s made in sand, over fire or on stovetop, it is prepared in a “cezve” (ibrik) using very finely ground coffee beans without filtering; 🫖 Turkish tea - called “çay” (pronounced chai) in Turkish - is a kind of black tea brewed in a dual teapot and served in tulip-shaped small glasses called “ince belli”. 🥨 Simit (Turkish Bagel) a sesame-bathed, circular Turkish bread. Very common - the cheapest street food in Turkey. 🍥 Turkish delight - also called lokum, jellied confection with different flavours (may contain pieces of fruits/nuts) commonly found in the markets. 🥟 Baklava - is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. It was one of the most popular sweet pastries of Ottoman cuisine. 🏺 The Nargile, also known as hookah or hubble-bubble or sheesha or Turkish water pipe, is an old tradition in Turkey for smoking Turkish tobacco (plain or fruit flavored - with or without nicotine). 🧿 Evil Eye Symbol - the Nazar Boncuk symbolizes the jealous and envious look of others, which, according to the popular belief, would have the power to cause various misfortunes to a person or his property. Turkish people believe that this amulet protects its holder from the bad energies by absorbing them. In addition, Turkey is famous for its sweets/desserts, ceramics, silver/gold jewelry, spices. Don’t forget to bargain - it is kind of a national sport. 😉

I lived there for almost two years. I moved without knowing anything about their culture. For me, Asia was very far from my reach. I didn't even take it into account then. The most complicated thing was joining a group of people there. They were very respectful to the point that not even a couple showed love for each other in the streets. On the other hand, everything was new to me, so I took advantage of every second to explore and learn more about Japan and my favorite city there: TOKYO. CURIOSITIES: If you don't have Japanese blood, you can't apply for Japanese citizenship. Did you know that Japan has the highest life expectancy rate in the world? 86 years for women and 79 for men. The longest life expectancy highest within Japan is located on the island of Okinawa. In addition, Shinjuku station in Tokyo is the busiest in the world. According to Wikipedia, 3.64 million people pass through this station daily. The station has 200 exits. The most important thing: It's not very expensive. You can eat for €7-8 and water always is free. You can find accommodation for €25-30 per person. Tokyo Metro costs €1.70 per person per journey. High-speed Shinkansen train lines are expensive (but it is the easiest way to travel around Japan).
