In 2014 as a junior in college, I was roped into a two-month summer trip to Istanbul, Turkey. Growing up loving travel but struggling with history, I had no clue what I was getting into—I couldn’t even show you Turkey on a map. So it came as a complete surprise that 60 days in this city would make me more familiar with it than my own hometown and grow a love I didn’t know was possible.
I could never up all I learned and love about Istanbul, but for cities like this that I know well it’s pretty easy to identify the places I would revisit today if I could, and that’s why I’m starting my #khowdozen Lists. Consider this a starting place for how to engage with Istanbul as a first-time visitor; perhaps you could even squeeze these twelve experiences into a long layover! This isn’t a list of the top sites or best fine dining; it’s the honest opinion of a girl who spent two months in the simple Kadikoy neighborhood and grew to love the Turkish people and the ways they connect, eat, and explore their beloved city.

MartiPolo | Explore like a local
Around the Amalfi Coast like a local | One week unforgettable itinerary trip
This is everything you need to know to plan in detail a perfect 1 week trip to the stunning Amalfi Coast.
I was born in Puglia and raised in Salerno, the first town of the Amalfi Coast; every time I go back home to my family and friends (at least 3 times per year for weeks!) I am still astonished by this picturesque encounter between natural beauty throughout the stretch of coastline, charm of vintage fisherman villages, and colorful architecture.
I want to provide you with an unbiased and detailed 1 week itinerary trip guide written by a true local to discover one of most enchanting places in Italy, and ranked among the prettiest in the world (for sure in my heart!).
You will be amazed by the crystal clear water, idyllic beauty, pastel colors perched little towns, terraced gardens of lemon trees, and delicious food (and limoncello!)
Make sure to click on the 'Details' icon for each place pinned in the itinerary and on the map to read my personal notes on each place.

Over the last 2 years, I have spent three and a half months in Porto, Portugal. That's a ton of meals! 😆 I love trying new foods and restaurants, and here are some of my favorite spots in and around the historic center of Porto!
Most of these places I've just found in my research over the years, some I've been lucky enough to just stumble on, and others have been suggested to me by the locals I have met along the way. But most importantly, I've actually been to every one of these places personally (some more than once!).
I've tried to provide a mix of budget, moderately priced and a few splurge meals. I hope my personal recommendations can help you plan your culinary journey around Porto!
What's included in this guide:
🔹9 Coffee/brunch options
🔹19 Lunch/dinner options
🔹3 Dessert options
🔹9 Bar/nightlife/cocktail options
🔹3 Food/drink related activities
