I first visited Iceland 3 years ago after getting an internship out of nowhere. And since then I been coming back year after year discovering the country more and falling in love even deeper. Iceland is the crazy combination of fire and ice, pure nature, crazy landscape and unbelievably welcoming people. Friends and family always asked me for recommendations and like that, I eventually came to make this 4-day itinerary that I'd like to share with you. It's perfect if you are on a tight schedule but still want to make the most out of it The itinerary is with renting a camper or a car in mind. You can either choose a budget version with camping or be more comfortable with apartments on the way. For example, if you were to travel with a friend the cheapest option would be renting 4x4 and camping with your own tents. The first time I came to Iceland was during my university when I got a summer internship in the country. I was way too excited to give up this great opportunity, however, my student budget was not too happy about the costs. I very quickly discovered that Iceland is as expensive as they say but I also discovered it can be explored on a low budget. In this guide, I'll share with you how you can plan your Iceland trip, on a budget and without a car. From where to stay, how to move around and what to see. If you choose the most basic option (camping and hitchhiking) you can expect 30€ a day. If you prefer hostels and public transport or bus tours you can expect anything from 40 to 150€ a day. SKIP the guides about the Golden Circle unless you're committed to staying in Reykjavic and only venturing out for a day. This guide has the highlights and agenda to do it all along the Southern Coast in just 3-4 days. (I recommend renting a Tesla and using the superchargers along the way to save time.) Maximize your time by seeing all of the South Coast plus a "secret" island where they have re-homed Beluga Whales. Highly recommend going all the way to Jökulsárlón, which was THE surprising highlight of my trip.

Iceland is one of those countries that you could spend weeks in, but if you're like me and you don't have unlimited PTO, you're all about maximizing your time. I spent time in Iceland over a long weekend, and definitely had the time of my life.

Iceland is a beautiful place to visit year-round, with the activities changing depending on the time of year you choose to visit. The warmer months are fun to explore this country because the summer sun creates a never-ending amount of time for adventures, seeing the puffin community, and hitting all the must-sees while not worrying about snow. This guide will give you the best places to hit in town and around the island whether you are planning for day trip excursions, road-tripping around Ring Road, or sticking to one section. This is the list of can't-miss things and places while visiting! The list below is packed with many options on how to plan for a summer trip to Iceland. First and foremost, you will not be able to see everything on this list if you are going for a week or less, and you will have to make peace with that and get excited to come back. There is so much to do on this island, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for traveling between places and exploring. There are plenty of random pull-offs to explore that might sidetrack from the original plan. Below are tours and activity options to participate in - my suggestion would be to pick 1 or 2 that you are most interested in and make sure to book those. I have been here several times and there is never a shortage of things to do.
