The town of Cala Gonone is a gem right at the heart of the Gulf of Orosei, known for its stunning coastline and marvelous, wild beaches. The most famous ones are accessible only by boat or dinghy, services that should be booked early in advance due to the high demand. ⚓️🌊 But what if you are looking for a more spontaneous solution, where you can just walk or drive for a few minutes and enjoy the cristal-clear Sardinian sea and beaches for free? 🏖🏃🏻‍♀️🚘 With this free map I would like to help you with my best recommendations as a local person to discover the beaches in Cala Gonone, for which you do not need a boat or dinghy to get to. Oban, Scotland is the beginning of the journey to the Inner Hebridean which includes the Isle of Mull, Iona, and many other small islands. My family and I had decided to rent a car and drive from Edinburgh. It is definitely intense to drive on the wrong side. But, you get used to it after a day or so. Otherwise, to get to Oban, you can take a train from Edinburgh. Oban is a small city with a cute main street filled with restaurants and touristy shops. Even though we had a car, we decided to use a ferry/bus tour. You will want to book a ferry/bus tour to the Isle of Mull, Iona, and Staffa. Be prepared for rain, rain, and more rain. We went at the end of June and it was a miserable, rainy, cold day. But enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the history of the people.

Given the island’s size, six days aren’t sufficient to cover all the major sites, but during my research and planning, I concentrated on Palermo, Catania, and nearby attractions. We spent 3 days in Catania and 3 days in Palermo. We used Catania and Palermo as starting points to explore the surrounding areas.
