Let us explore gluten free Gothenburg! I am living here since a year now as a celiac and will link the restaurants where I had good gluten-free experiences with so far.
This map contains places for lunch and dinner. If you are looking for something sweet, please check out my "Gluten Free Fika in Gothenburg" map! The guide includes a mix between "real" restaurants and fast food restaurants. It is focused on more affordable locations and leaves out luxurious and expensive places.
Usually, in Sweden you can ask for a gluten-free alternative and it is common that they have gluten-free burger buns or pizza dough to offer. Still, it is always necessary to explain everything has to be gluten-free even regarding contamination. I am thankful for the general offer of alternatives, yet I prefer to visit places where I can eat more than the obligatory gluten-free burger bun ;-). Therefore, I recommend only the locations where I was satisfied with the gluten-free possibilities!
Furthermore, I will not link restaurants in the charming old town district of Haga. There are several restaurants, but I personally found them very touristy and therefore prefer to walk through it but then visit other places to eat.
And now enjoy :-)

The Caribbean coast of Colombia is home to some seriously top-notch hostel culture. There’s not a whole lot to do on the coast besides enjoying nature and a good party, so your experience tends to depend on where you stay. Luckily, there is a place for everyone. Whether you’re looking for fresh food, stunning views, or a crazy party — I got you. Best part? It’s seriously cheap.
I have either stayed at or visited each of these places myself, so please feel free to reach out directly for more tips. Vamos!

Eating my way through Mexico City was my favorite thing to do in the 9 months that I lived there, and I took meticulous notes. These places not only wow in food, but in atmosphere - you eat with your eyes, too, right? Here I share with you the standouts, the must visits, and the dishes I still think about to this day.
Important sidenote! There's a good selection of contemporary Asian & international cuisine included. This is not a taco or mexican restaurant guide but rather the buzz-worthy hotspots that I've tried and would recommend to my inner circle. I've taken my time to recount what stands out to me about each place - including what dishes I'd order again.
Buen provecho!
Included with this guide:
✨ My personal notes about each restaurant, including must-try dishes
✨ An interactive map showing the locations
✨ Dining recommendations in the neighborhoods of Condesa, Roma Norte, Juarez & Colonia Cuauhtémoc

During a three month trip exploring Central America, I spent a glorious chunk in the beautiful yet incredibly underrated Nicaragua. This guide highlights all the best bits of this beautiful country's culture; its attractions, cuisine, history and people.
The itinerary covers a number of locations and therefore recommend allocating at least 10-14 days to enjoy at leisure. If you have less to work with, then obviously feel free to tailor as it suits.

Alfajores are one of my favorite sweets. With a delicious, crumbly cookie filled with either dulce de leche or manejar - both types of caramel - no coffee break in South America is complete without an alfajor. While the experts debate what country has the best (or oldest) alfajor, the two countries that always float to the top are Peru and Argentina. So on a recent trip to Peru, my goal was to have as many alfajores as I could and to make a ranking.
In my trip I visited Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Aguas Calientes, and Ollantaytambo. I was stunned at just how good the cookies were - everywhere. Did I eat every alfajor in the country? No, but I'll still self declare myself an expert. So here are the 5 favorite

My guide to backpacking Central America is finally here! This guide is based on hundreds of hours of research, my own 4 month long trip, and some extras that I wasn't able to get to but would still highly recommend based on reviews from trusted friends! This guide serves as an essential list of the best attractions in each country and what not to miss! The route in the guide is laid out North to South, starting in Belize and ending in Panama, but it can also be used in reverse.
The guide includes information for how to get between locations; however not in great detail as the schedules and prices change frequently and let's be honest, the busses are never on time in Central America! The best way to get between places depends on your timeline and budget of your trip: if you have months to explore, take the local "chicken busses" for a more affordable and immersive experience; if you only have weeks, take the more direct shuttles; and if you're tight on time, take the more direct and upscale coaches. Whichever option you choose, the locals are always willing to help with chicken busses, and shuttle busses and coaches are very easy to book throughout Central America at your hostel, any tour operator, or online.
Where possible, I included accommodation recommendations for places that I personally stayed at and can vouch for, or know someone who did. In addition, there are links for booking hostels in each region!
I hope this guide provides some help and inspiration to backpack Central America, it's one of my absolute favourite places on Earth!
