Montreux is my hometown and I share here my ultimate itinerary if you only have one day in Montreux (+ some stuff to do if you do have more than one day!). Montreux is a famous city in Western Switzerland, situated along the shores of the Lake Geneva. The two most famous events are The Montreux Jazz Festival and The Xmas Market. Characterized by beautiful grasslands, an abundance of wildlife, and a proud cowboy culture, the llanos orientales or eastern plains, is one of Colombia's lesser-known treasures. Spread across four departments (Casanare, Vichada, Meta, Arauca), the region boasts excellent horseback riding opportunities, a meaty culinary culture, and warm hospitality. I spent a weekend in Trinidad, a tranquil town 110km inland from Yopal, the capital of Casanare department. Though local tourism is still in its nascent stages, Trinidad proved a convenient and pleasant place to take a llanero safari and to sample the region's famous mamona meat. This itinerary highlights the best food, activities, and accommodations for a perfect weekend in the llanos.

This is a food map of where to get my favorite sweets and pastries from different bakeries in Paris. When I moved to here in 2015 as a nanny, I discovered the cultural activity called "gouté", which is what the french call the afternoon snack. For kids after school this looks like a pastry from the boulangerie, some chouquettes (in this guide), or chocolate wedged between a baguette. Basically anything baked and buttery with chocolate qualifies as a gouté.
