This week, we venture into one of our favorite destinations in West Virginia: the lovely renaissance town of Thomas, and the surrounding Monongahela National Forest. This region offers a perfect mix of front-country attractions, and backcountry scenery and adventure. We spend some time camping with our friends, @family_adventures_overlanding, and then take the Jeep out touring among the rhododendrons!

A guide to walk through some of the most well preserved post towns along the Nakasendo.
The Nakasendo is the former highway that connected Kyoto to Tokyo during the Edo period (1603-1868). At this time the Feudal lords were forced to do a multi-week commute between the two cities. The ruling family forced the lords to spend every other year in Tokyo with their entire household. This was a nightmare of a yearly commute!
The Nakasendo is a 540km route with 69 post towns along the route. Commuting lords and samurai would stop at the post towns to rest and eat during their long journey.
Currently, many of the post towns have been modernized with the introduction of the railway line. A lot of the original paths used by the lords and samurai have been converted into roads.

A Weekend in Briançon | Experience Briançon, France like a local
Hi fellow travelers! Thanks for stopping by to check out this guide with over 40 places to check out in the greater Briançon region.
Tucked away in the heart of the giants, the quaint city of Briançon is full of breathtaking mountain views, delicious boulangeries, and tons of outdoor adventure activities for the adrenaline addict in the family.
In this destination guide, you will get a sneak peek into what it's like to live like a local in Briançon. From our favorite restaurants, to various adventure options, this guide has it all. Come along with us as we explore the area with local resident Alexandre, who I had the pleasure of spending a month with. Due to staying with a local, I did not include recommendations of where to stay. There are a variety of options from Hotels, Airbnb's, Gîtes, and camping in the surrounding area. During the high tourist season, places can book up quickly so be sure to make your accommodations in advance.
---
All year round you can find activities to do in Briançon, but peek summer tourist season starts in late June, July, August, early September, and the winter tourist season begins in late December and runs until the end of March. Some activities listed in this guide are seasonal and are not open year round. Always check before booking a trip.
Things to note: Briançon is located part in the valley but is full of hills and steep climbs. This is a very walkable city designed for the outdoor enthusiast, nature lover and sports participant.
This is a live guide and will update as information changes in real time.

I have visited Italy pretty extensively now. I have been to Tuscany, Puglia, the Dolomites, Mont Blanc, Amalfi, Cinque Terre + Ligurian Coast, Rome, etc and spent a lot of time exploring the country. Along the way I have gathered up some recommendations from places I've loved.
This will be a growing guide as I continue to travel throughout Italy so make sure to save it and check back for updates!
I have also in my visits seen/visited hotels that look fantastic and have great locations, amenities, etc. Or put my friends/family up in places that they've since reviewed for me. I will make sure to be very clear throughout this guide which stays I recommend from personal experience and which I believe to be great recs.
***My notes on each place will be in the notes section under the stay so make sure to click to read them!***

In this guide we dish out our favorite bites in Lower Manhattan (that is, 14th Street down) for folks who see food as more than just fuel! When it comes to food, we look to have meals that will turn into core memories, or are so good we need to return multiple times. We look for unique eats, umami flavors, photogenic environments, and great atmosphere. You can be sure that the spots on our list either fly under the radar or are worth the hype. Regardless, you’ll leave with a very happy stomach.

Inside this guide, you’ll find some of our favorite dishes, voice recordings aplenty, and pics from a handful of unforgettable meals. When it comes to food, we don’t discriminate, so you’ll find options from Japanese to French, budget to splurge, and from vegan to carnivore. We’re also sure to denote places that are especially allergen friendly.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
☕️5 Coffee spots / Cafes
🍕 3 Grab-n-gos
🥟 3 Food halls
🍝6 Sit-down restaurants
🤑 2 Fine dining that are worth the splurge
🌱 4 Vegan and vegetarian

This is a food map of where to get my favorite sweets and pastries from different bakeries in Paris. When I moved to here in 2015 as a nanny, I discovered the cultural activity called "gouté", which is what the french call the afternoon snack. For kids after school this looks like a pastry from the boulangerie, some chouquettes (in this guide), or chocolate wedged between a baguette. Basically anything baked and buttery with chocolate qualifies as a gouté. If you find yourself in Paris and want to partake in this cultural daily tradition, or just want to have some of the best baked goods you'll ever have IN YOUR LIFE, save this guide and check out the places below.

The East Village has a little bit of everything. Towards the west it is more posh as it connects to Union Square, towards the north it is extremely neighborhoody/family oriented near Stuytown, the east brings you the edginess of old-NY and Alphabet City, whereas the south is the trendy area of LES. East Village has a little something for everyone in it.
The restaurants here serve up delicious food without being stuffy establishments. The East Village is filled with a pleathora of food options for all palates and budgets!
Don't have a reservation, no problem - this guide is for you! My guide includes all day cafes, fast grab n' go options, and some phenomenal sit down restaurants spanning cuisines from italian, australian, Mexican, farm to table and a handful of different mediterranean and Asian cusines. Are you heading to the land of pizza and pasta, worried about eating gluten-free without getting sick?
Don't fret! Surprisingly, Italy is one of the best places for travelers with Celiac Disease. There are numerous dedicated gluten-free bakeries, restaurants, and even grocery stores throughout the city. What's even more reassuring is the presence of AIC (Associazione Italiana Celiachia) in Italy, which offers an app listing restaurants with strict protocols for handling gluten-free orders to prevent cross-contact.
In this guide you will find:
*How to Navigate Supermarkets in Italy including a dedicated 100% gluten free supermarket near the Vatican
*Information about the Italian AIC App and How to Use It
*Highly Recommended Gluten Free Italian Restaurant Card
*My recommended Gluten Free Restaurants including restaurants close to major attractions
*Map of all the restaurants, bakeries, gelato shops and supermarkets.
*Our family's favorite activities and tours we did in Rome
