13 Luxury Hotels

The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: We arrived early at about 11:30 and our luggage was taken as we were escorted to the Club lounge for check-in. We were offered a welcome drink of Yuzu as well as access to the full lounge lunch offer. After about 20 minutes, we were checked in and given the keys to room 5326, just along from the lounge. Large room with stunning views over towards Shinjuku. Décor in good condition if slightly dated in neutral colors. Comfortable bed, desk, two wardrobes, unit including fridge, coffee maker, kettle etc. opposite double doors into the bathroom. The bathroom was large, with two basins, a separate shower and WC behind glass doors and a large bath.

Aman Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Aman Tokyo is located in the heart of the Financial District of Tokyo. No matter the rush outside its door, the 5-star and all-suite hotel offers a serene sanctuary high above Tokyo with just 84 guest suites. Iconic design represents the perfect balance of urban dynamism and cultural sensibility and is the epitome of Japanese minimalism - nonetheless, a dramatic lobby framed by a gigantic washi paper lantern and anchored by a zen garden of water, gravel and rocks will welcome the guests.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: This is definitely a five-star. The furniture is beautiful and Art Deco. The staff were extremely polite. The service, standards, and cleanliness were excellent. This is almost at the same level as the five stars in the Jumeirah beach of Dubai. The hotel is massive and you feel that you are in a five star. The views from the garden are incredible. The breakfast was very good. The hotel rooms are spacious with large windows. The managers, concierge, and restaurant staff were incredibly professional and went out of their way to help.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: Stayed twice in this hotel, and will without hesitation come again. We really enjoyed our time in this hotel. The design is modern, clean, and beautiful with spacious rooms. The hotel has a great location and we really enjoyed exploring the city with the hotel as a base. Service is superb and everyone in the hotel was super kind. Several people told us that the Beatles stayed here and I found that super cute. The hotel is very close to a beautiful shrine and a mall. Loved staying here.

Imperial Hotel Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: The Imperial Hotel is exquisite - classic, elegant, and impeccable. But most impressive of all, the entire staff genuinely cares about the experience of their guests and ensures your stay will be perfect. I have never experienced such an extremely high level of service and genuine care at any other hotel in the world, and I've stayed at some of the best. I'm here to run the Tokyo Marathon, and it was very important for me to recover from jet lag and sleep well in the days leading up to the race. Since we arrived, my daughter, who is traveling with me, and I have been truly impressed by all the little things done to ensure our experience is as comfortable and pleasurable as possible.

Example Reviews: This was our first time staying at a Mandarin Oriental property, and it exceeded our expectations. We were beyond impressed. Every staff member we encountered was professional, helpful, kind, and welcoming. They are the definition of hospitality. During our stay, we used many services the hotel had to offer. We had breakfast at K’shiki every morning. The servers were attentive and friendly.

Conrad Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: I love a luxury hotel, but most miss the mark a bit. The Conrad, however, was exceptional. We dropped our bags off earlier in the day, and they were in our room at check-in. The service was perfect all around. The cocktail lounge had a beautiful view (but make a reservation to ensure a seat). Can’t wait to return.

Shiba Park Hotel
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: Loved our stay at Shiba Park Hotel. Traveling and reading are among our favourite activities so to stay at a library hotel was wonderful. Following a day of travel back to Tokyo after time exploring Japan, it was a delight to relax in comfy chairs with good books and complimentary coffees in the lounge. We had a family room in the main building which was spacious with great beds and decent pillows. The hotel is in a nice area - very close to Daimon Subway, about a 10 min walk to Hamamatsucho Station. It’s near Shiba Park, Tokyo Tower, Zo-jo Ji Temple, lots of red and surrounded by convenience stores. Couldn’t fault our stay at the Shiba Park Hotel.

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: Big hotel in Shinjuku area of Tokyo located an easy walk across from shopping and local restaurants . Public transport via Shinjuku Station to/from major areas using Yamanote Line. Just make sure you follow the correct exit signs . Big lobby upstairs and ground floor has several restaurants which tbh are a bit overpriced. Check in for us was a painless experience as we had booked a more expensive room which included Executive Lounge Access. We therefore avoided the queue at reception and were directed to the lifts and checked in directly in the lounge. Very efficient and polite staff.

Hotel Metropolitan Edmont
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: I really liked the hotel. The room was very comfortable, super clean, super quiet. I only had the breakfast one morning. It was good. There are lots of places to eat nearby and several convenience stores (Lawson and 7-11) and a Starbucks close by. The hotel is between two subway stations and is easy to find. I used Apple maps and you can easily find from the airports in Tokyo to the hotel via subway. The staff was great and the room was super cleaned each day.

Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: Really enjoyed my 7 night stay here. For the price paid (approx £60 a night including breakfast) this was really good value for hotels of a comparable standard and room size and I was really glad I ended up booking this instead of similarly priced APA or Comfort Hotel options. Really appreciated the comfortable bed and the excellent housekeeping service.

Example Reviews: Stayed 8 nights with my family( wife and 2 kids - 1 year and 3). Very convenient opposite shinagawa station. There is 7 11 and lots of food around especially the other end of the train station. Easy to move around places via the jri but mostly need two changes. Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: The prince hotel was a breath of fresh air after spending nights in central Tokyo. It was a relief having such a large hotel after many nights in small urban hotels. It’s distance from the Keio Metro line was also extremely nice. Only being five stops away from Tokyo Disneyland made it a great place for the family since we can go to Disneyland in less than 30 minutes and still had access to a lot of the things that you would think you would miss in downtown Tokyo, like restaurants and convenient stores. The staff are all immaculate and extremely polite and helpful, granted this is something I see in a lot of places in Japan, but again the prince hotel met all my expectations and exceeded them.

BOOK AND BED TOKYO Shinjuku
@ambertanaka
Example Reviews: It was awesome. You get to sleep amongst bookshelves. I felt like I was a character in a children's book. My little bunk was roomy and cozy. I have heard others say it was noisy. That was no my experience. It was dead quiet when I was there. I loved the setting- especially at night when a few people would be lounging and reading while the others slept. The wifi was great. The bathrooms were adequate - large showers, hot water etc. I loved the weirdly photogenic breakfast. And the location was perfect. Easy to find and close to the Shinjuku train station.
