In this guide, I'll share with you all the budget hostels I stayed at around the world and my honest opinion about them.
Most of my travels I did as a solo female traveller. And hostels were often the best option - cheap, safe, great places to meet another traveller.

Planning a trip to Split, Croatia? Find out in this article the best things you need to add to your itinerary, recommendations for private guided tours and for accommodation.
Split is Croatiaās second-largest city and should be included in your itinerary if you plan to visit this country. Paint this picture: a maze of narrow streets, colorful buildings, historic landmarks, cobblestoned lanes and a beautiful promenade with palm trees, sounds pretty amazing, right?! To be honest, it was one of my favorite cities in Croatia (only second after Dubrovnik).

In 2014 as a junior in college, I was roped into a two-month summer trip to Istanbul, Turkey. Growing up loving travel but struggling with history, I had no clue what I was getting intoāI couldnāt even show you Turkey on a map. So it came as a complete surprise that 60 days in this city would make me more familiar with it than my own hometown and grow a love I didnāt know was possible.
I could never up all I learned and love about Istanbul, but for cities like this that I know well itās pretty easy to identify the places I would revisit today if I could, and thatās why Iām starting my #khowdozen Lists. Consider this a starting place for how to engage with Istanbul as a first-time visitor; perhaps you could even squeeze these twelve experiences into a long layover! This isnāt a list of the top sites or best fine dining; itās the honest opinion of a girl who spent two months in the simple Kadikoy neighborhood and grew to love the Turkish people and the ways they connect, eat, and explore their beloved city.

One of the things that is so great about Australia? Whatever the Australians do, it seems to be impossible for them to disappoint you when it comes to coffee ā. They simply have the best coffee in the world. Even at places where you might expect the worst. Although, do not take my opinion as a fact; I have not been everywhere yet, but from my experience and the shared opinions of other people I met throughout my travels, it could be true.
So, when the coffee is good, we start paying attention to the details. How is the presentation? Is there beautiful latte art? Does my to-go cup look cute? All totally unrelated to the quality of the coffee. But letās be honest right here: we all think coffee tastes better when there is a beautifully designed swan in our cup.
Thatās why this map of recommendations focuses on the coffee places along the East Coast that provide that little extra. The ones that will make you remember drinking that delicious latte and make you want to visit them again.
This map is for the traveler who, just like me, is exploring the highlights of the East Coast at a quick pace and does not want to waste one single cup of coffee along the journey.
š Covered destinations in this map: Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay, Noosa.

When you think of visiting Southern California beaches, you probably think about visiting iconically known spots like Santa Monica or Malibu. But those famous spots are so touristy and crowded and to be honest, there are a lot of other beach options that are way prettier.
Let me introduce you to one of the best beaches in Southern California ā Hermosa Beach! I've lived in Hermosa Beach for 3+ years now, so this guide gives you all of the local tips you need to experience the best of the best. Plus, Hermosa is located in the South Bay right outside of Los Angeles so you can reach it by a short car ride.
If you're visiting Los Angeles or Southern California, don't go to the beach towns that everyone else is going to! Go to Hermosa and I promise you won't be disappointed!
If you find this information helpful, any tips are appreciated for my work.
