Can Paixano
@patrickguidebarcelona
This is one of the places that made me fall in love with Barcelona! A packed bar where you throw your napkins on the ground when you’re done. Order a bottle of the house casa and grab a sandwich, my go to now is the Negre i Blanc Gegant. It’s a bit different now after the pandemic, with limits on the capacity so long lines form.

Bar Celta Pulperia

The specialty is octopus 🐙. Grab a plate and some other tapas. Simple, but really good Galician-style restaurant. There is also one in the Gothic Quarter.

Bar Jai-Ca
@patrickguidebarcelona
One of my favorites in the neighborhood! There are two spots side-by-side. I prefer the smaller one, but if you can’t get a table, head to the larger. Some menu favorites: buñuelos de bacalao (cod fritters), their batatas bravas, and anything else!

ICE CREAM.  The only stop for ice cream in the city, and with reason.  The Roca brothers, owners of El Celler Can Roca (best restaurant in the WORLD in 2013, 2015, and 2016) have opened an ice cream shop and you can only imagine how it is.  Ever changing flavors and ridiculous toppings.  Popsicles and fried ice cream options as well.  My suggestion: Baked Apple ice cream.
