San Miguel de Allende is a pueblo mĂĄgico in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It is incredibly beautiful with stunning architecture and cobblestone streets. It is also a retirement destination for Americans, Canadians, and Europeans; about 20% of the total population here is foreign. Because of that, it tends to be on the more expensive side, and a high proportion of local establishments are also foreign-owned.
In this guide, I will provide you with (local) places to stay and eat within your budget, as well as places worth visiting.

I lived in Lima for a year, and visit often for work trips â and the best part by far, is the food. Peruvians are obsessed with food in a passionate, compulsive, borderline clinical way. It is the base of their culture, their favorite pastime and topic of conversation.
I am a SEAFOOD lover & eat almost no meat â- so this list is heavily seafood skewed, but when in Lima, I think thatâs a great bias.
Lima is a great place to stop for a few days before heading to see the rest of the country. It is worth splurging to eat well.

This is my guide to the main attractions in the state of YucatĂĄn. Additionally, some places to sleep and eat around to make the most out of exploring this Mexican state.
I have spent years exploring the region and getting to know my state's wonders. It is now time to share the results of all those experiences with others.
The guide is divided into three separate sections: Beaches & Manglars, Ruta Puuc or Pueblos & Ruins. Each of these represents different parts of Yucatan and has a particular attraction. All sections would have their own eating, sleeping, and visiting recommendations.
